Efthymis with a 'Y'?
[edit]In every film credit except The Lobster, his name was spelled with a "y". Right around that same time, the English-language The Killing of a Sacred Deer still utilized the "y". IMDb has his main name listed as "Efthimis", but notes on every film (credited as Efthymis Filippou), which seems kind of ridiculous if it's the majority unless he specifically has chosen to stick with this spelling. (I recall many Greeks, such as Michael Cacoyannis, maintaining Americanization over transliteration—Mihalis Kakogiannis, for example.) I guess the ultimate tell will be the upcoming two films. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 19:57, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- As a counterargument (For my own self!), I should mention his personal website utilizes the "I" in its URL. Whether or not that was just acceptance/defeatist, or preference, idk. Like I said, the fact that only one film credit in the middle of his filmography is that way is what's peculiar. But at least he has one project slated for 2024, and another in production. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 04:07, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
