Attendance
I think stating that the Eskimos "draw over 40000" in attendance is overstating it. They occasionally (but I suppose regularly) draw that much, but not always as this makes it sound. That should be adjusted. Perhaps "often draw over 40000". And may be a citation backing up attendance figures, perhaps with an average, would bolster this too. --Bdoserror 04:34, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- Answer my own question: found a citation for the attendance figures. Averaged over 40000 for 2005. --Bdoserror 04:39, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Community owership
Can someone please explain how this works? I can't find any info on it at all. Kevlar67 21:28, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, so I think they have shareholder, based on this old press release esks.com and this old Sun article Slam sports, and this newer press release slam sports. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevlar67 (talk • contribs) 22:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Blake Marshall
Suggest adding Blake Marshall to "not to be forgotten" list. I believe he set the CFL record for most touchdowns in a season with the Eskimos, but I couldn't find a citation. --Skarsa72 (talk) 17:14, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Not to be Forgotten
Recent edits, plus the above comment, make me wonder: What's the criteria for 'Not to be Forgotten"? Is it just a random dumping ground of players who were "important" (in someone's mind) without fitting into other categories, like the Wall of Fame? --Bdoserror (talk) 20:38, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly, that's why I was bold and removed the section. It's clear POV. Crash Underride 15:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Helmet
Is there a reason why that particular helmet picture is on the Edmonton Eskimos page when the rest of the CFL and NFL pages have a standard format and certain helmet picture? Why is the Edmonton Eskimos different. Can we at least have a picture that matches the criteria of the other football pages or some explanation why that picture is superior? Waseemg 10:19, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Never mind got my reasoning the previous picture was not svg.

- I'm looking for an SVG of the previous :) Connormah (talk) 21:45, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Notable Seasons
I'm thinking there has to be a mistake in the punt return records for Gizmo in the 1990 section. I've changed them to read "most punt return yards" in a season and a game. Bdoserror (talk) 20:01, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
25 Year Season Ticket Holder List
A list of people who have held season tickets for 25 years is one of the weirdest things I have seen on a sports team's entry. Largely irrelevant and I suggest deletion. --50.72.146.214 (talk) 13:48, 13 July 2012 (UTC) best team ever — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.197.128.18 (talk) 22:18, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Copyright problem
It has just been uncovered that one of the more prolific editors of this article, User:Hassanaskia, has a history of violating our copyright policies, and unfortunately he has tainted this article as well. Substantial content he has placed here has already been identified as having been copied from several external sources. The article needs to be rewritten to remove all of the content he added. This seems to have been the last edit before he began working on the article. It is possible to revert to it and use it as a base to begin adding back content that was provided by others. I do greatly apologize to those of you working in good faith who are set back by this problem, but unfortunately we cannot allow the copyright infringement to stand. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:21, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
- I reverted to the "clean" version. Here I am, trying to look up the article while watching the game tonight against Calgary, and we've a problem. I hope the article can be rebuilt. Keegan (talk) 05:37, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Mascots
After adding descriptions for the mascots, since the image file has been deleted; I though this section should be moved to after the "Song" section.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 20:13, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
Ownership vs Publicly traded category
GreenRunner0 added a category of "Publicly traded sports companies", but since the ownership section says "In 2006 the Ottawa Sun reported that shares cost $10 each, but were not open to the general public and required the approval of the 80 existing shareholders" I think this does not qualify as "Publicly traded" so I removed that category. - Bdoserror (talk) 21:00, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
Origins of the name and controversy
With the Eskimos name coming up in the news again, I felt it was important to tag this page as NPOV based on the section containing a history of the discussion of the team's name. While the section is and should be an important part of the article, it fails by representing only one side of the discussion. There have been several people - including Inuit - who have spoken out in favour of the name, and the Eskimos themselves have undergone consultation that resulted in the team deciding not to change their name.
Generally, I think Washington Redskins name controversy is the standard in terms of presenting a topic like this in a neutral manner. I will hopefully have some time to address this section in the short term, however I thought it might also be a good idea to open up a dialogue to see if there are any other issues people feel should be brought up in this section to make it more neutral and informative. --PlasmaTwa2 22:35, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- As the effective author of the Redskins controversy article (~75% of the text), I appreciate the recognition of its neutrality. It contains all the alternative views that I could find in reliable sources. I have an automated Google search for "Native American mascot controversy" and don't remember Edmonton coming up, while the US teams did. Perhaps this is media bias; if there was Inuit support for the Eskimos it was not widely reported.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 14:09, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- This link [1] could help. Deadman137 (talk) 17:02, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Elks (CFL)
why does the title need a qualifier Edmonton Elks (CFL) ?
- There seems to have been a pre-CFL Edmonton Elks that won the Grey Cup in 1922. -- Kisewi (talk) 17:44, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- IMO, this article is clearly the main topic. However, the inbound links to Edmonton Elks need to be cleaned up and, where applicable, pointed to Edmonton Rugby Foot-ball Club, and the history of that page needs moved somewhere (Edmonton Elks (1922 rugby club), maybe?), before this page is moved there. —C.Fred (talk) 17:57, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Done. Old history is at Edmonton Elks (1922). —C.Fred (talk) 20:15, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Update uniform
Someone, or specifically the person who does the CFL or American Football uniforms on Wikipedia, please update their helmets as the yellow helmets have green antlers instead of the “EE” logo for their home and away uniforms. CanadianOntarian (talk) 23:23, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know what the white jersey uniforms look like, so I can't update them yet. If you can provide a link to confirm their new uniforms, I can update the image. Alternatively, I can upload what's known so far with a "TBD" over the white jerseys. Cmm3 (talk) 02:51, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
