To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your userpage.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Fever (Kylie Minogue album). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:46, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
that is not vandalism, that is adding a year count since the release of the album. Literally not vandalism CanadianOntarian (talk) 01:27, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe "vandalism" is too strong a word but however in Template:Infobox album#released, it didn't say you should add a year count in the format, it's not needed since people already know how long the album been out. If you want to start an discussion about it, I suggest to start it at Template talk:Infobox album instead of here, and I also suggest you should read the guidelines too (WP:MOS and WP:ALBUMSTYLE). [edit]Taliban flag on international relations articles
[edit]Hello. I have reverted your edits. While there is a consensus that the Taliban is the de facto government of Afghanistan and its flag should be used for most domestic and non-political articles, the same cannot be said for articles about international relations. Most embassies of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are still operating, and the Islamic Republic controls the country's UN seat. These articles are about bilateral relations, and it does not make sense to use the flag of the government that is not engaged in relations with the country, especially when relations with representatives of the prior government are still active. The flag should indicate to the reader which entity is representing Afghanistan in that relationship; changing them all to the Taliban flag could create a false impression of the nature of the bilateral relationship. The flag has been updated for the countries that have started de facto engagement with the Islamic Emirate, namely Turkmenistan, China, Russia, and Pakistan. If the variant "2013" is specified for the flag of Afghanistan anywhere on Wikipedia, it was almost always added *after* the Taliban takeover to ensure that version is displayed, usually because it is more appropriate for that article. ― Tartan357 Talk 03:47, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
Important Notice
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Afghanistan–United States relations. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ― Tartan357 Talk 23:26, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
