[edit]

On this date a lot of text has been substituted: without any comments! Can anyone check this affair?Super48paul (talk) 07:00, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't substituted - it was deleted, perhaps inadvertently. I have restored it. StAnselm (talk) 07:03, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency in names

[edit]

Edith Tolkien is generally referred to as Edith, while her husband is referred to as Tolkien rather than Ronald most, but not all, of the time. The inconsistency is jarring. Trishm (talk) 22:56, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I'll see if I can address this. The Parson's Cat (talk) 18:50, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Attempted. I hope this works - if not, please edit ruthlessly! :-) The Parson's Cat (talk) 19:12, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Calling Luthien

[edit]

The article includes both the quote from Prof. Tolkien "I never called Edith Luthien...", but in the subsection 'Homefront', it is stated that "...and Tolkien often referred to Edith as 'my Lúthien.'" When reading through the cited source, it nowhere states that Tolkien called Edith Luthien. Theodore Schultz Iversdale (talk) 11:08, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Somewhere on the page (a Legacy section?) it should be included that Edith was played by Lily Collins in Tolkien (film). Are there other ways Edith is recorded/remembered? TGCP (talk) 09:14, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
