Economy of Western Asia → Economy of the Middle East — This page was originally named 'Economy of the Middle East.' It has been renamed 'Economy of Western Asia' and there is disagreement between the editors over which name is more appropriate.
- Support-In my opinion Middle East is a more commonly recognized and understood term than Western Asia and more likely be be researched (according to Wikipedia article traffic statistics in September Middle East was researched 101724 times while Western Asia was researched 10261 times)--Ndunruh (talk) 23:15, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Oppose Though I can understand the reasons for supporting the move, I think most economists and analysts would use the term "Western Asia", and this article falls under their specialist field.84.92.117.93 (talk) 00:23, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Comment: Three of the four economic texts cited in the article, all published within the past decade, refer to the Middle East.--Ndunruh (talk) 01:13, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Support Changing position after reading article more thoroughly. 84.92.117.93 (talk) 12:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- Support the term 'Middle East' is very common. 'Western Asia' is very uncommon and ambigious. Flamarande (talk) 20:22, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

'Rank' in statistics table has no meaning
[edit]There is a seemingly arbitrary value of 'rank' of the economies that does not appear to come from anywhere nor have any meaning. That column should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.59.176.2 (talk) 21:44, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
- Done. The column erroneously ranked countries without support from any statistics/sources provided. The rank column has been removed. Countries are now listed alphabetically. Veritycheck✔️ (talk) 20:52, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
