[edit]Wow, very good article. I would certainly like to see this go for a GAN. Juliancolton (St. Patrick's day) 16:42, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Curious.
[edit]I'm curious: why is this church called "Dutch Reformed Church" while so many in the Hudson River Valley are called "Reformed Dutch Church"? Did it feel more closely aligned with those in the Netherlands than its sister churches in the HRV? I can't find anything about the name variation in the article. - Never thought about that till now. However, I think it might have something to do with older nomenclature. The actual congregation merged with another local one and decamped to their present building out in the Meadow Hill section of the Town of Newburgh back in the early 1970s. I think back then there were stronger ties between the Dutch and American churches, so "Dutch" came first in the name. Or maybe that was how people said it then.
In any case, this is the name in common use in the city of Newburgh, and has been for a while. Daniel Case (talk) 19:34, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
