Article name

[edit]

Why is this page under Dumb & Dumber when the movie poster has Dumb and Dumber? Pepsidrinka 05:31, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Both appear to be used in different places. IMDb lists the primary name as Dumb & Dumber [1], which suggests to me it's the more common. But maybe it's not. Sarge Baldy 05:42, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The title card in the film itself uses the ampersand version. Radix 05:58, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Popularity

[edit]

Is it just me, or is that section not only pointless, or devoid ov any information ragarding the popularity of the film?

Thank you, Jim Carrey, for helping make another great movie. --66.218.24.36 05:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"the film has become what many consider a leading comedy classic of the modern era"

Is there any source for this statement? 70.248.230.121 20:55, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes

[edit]

Does half the article really need to be quotes? 88.110.17.35 09:17, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, and they're gone.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 22:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Soundtrack

[edit]

A very obscure song missing from the Soundtrack is one that plays in the Diner scene. The lyrics seem to sing "two foot o buttcrack, was all I could see..." After years of researching I finally found the title and artist: "2 Foot O'Butt Crack" by Circle The Wagon. However I cannot find any reference whatsoever as to the band, composer, copyright or even that the song was ever recorded outside of the movie.

If you have more resources to reference this please do so thanks.

It's listed on IMDb's soundtrack page:
"2 Ft O'Butt Crack"
Written by William Goodrum (as Jimmy Glen Pines) & Elmo Jackson
Performed by Circle the Wagon

In an interview on The Hour, Bruce Greenwood states that a friend of his wrote the song and they recored it at Greenwood's house. In the movie, Bruce Greenwood is actually singing the song during the scene in the movie. Greenwood and his friend were never paid for the song or given credit at the end of the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.166.105.23 (talk) 05:00, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dumb-poster.jpg

[edit]

Image:Dumb-poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:26, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 19:15, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural References

[edit]

There's a reference made to The Silence of the Lambs towards the end of the movie. "I'd eat her liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." Or something to that effect, anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.162.234.207 (talk) 01:11, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sequel

[edit]

Anyone think it's a good idea to clean up the sequel section, get rid of the time line that is there and just state the newest facts. Seems unnecessary to have it like the way it is, that is having a time line of what happened and when. Just simplify it.Zdawg1029 (talk) 22:19, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The sequel section looks like it has been cleaned up, and it reads just fine to me. I added a link at the beginning of the article since it seemed needed to me. Spalding (talk) 12:45, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Original Title?

[edit]

I seem to remember trailers of the movie before it's release with a different title, one that was somewhat offensive, UT it was so long ago I can't remember lt. does anyone else remember it? Probably not, since it's ot mentioned in the article. 2600:4040:B00F:5900:20DD:438E:353:6DB1 (talk) 17:36, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
