Encyclopedic condition of this article

[edit]

Hi Atsme! This article needs some work. I'm not asking you do it; I will. He's a cutting horse but it's not an article you have worked on according to the revision history. An editor that I'm not familiar with created it. The "Rescue" section, most was created with the initial creation of the article. I find it's not very encyclopedic (to say the least). The story has an ending not added to it yet. Perhaps the section is too much detail. Just looking for a couple words of guidance and any notes if some sources are not reliable: the sources in the article and those I found below:

Reliable Sources:

Videos

Would be most appreciated just to get a little guidance....thanks dawnleelynn(talk) 03:38, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Atsme It appears that the first paragraph with all the facts about the horse's career is based on the "All About Cutting" source, which does appear to be a blog. Many of the other sources appear to be unreliable too. I tried to find some reliable sources, but all the searches just keep bringing up mostly results about the abuse. I found a couple AQHA sources but also related to the abuse, the allbreedpedigree source, and two others also related to the abuse. I can't really see much that can be done here without some better sources. I'll make a note about the article and try visiting again sometime in the future. dawnleelynn(talk) 03:04, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
dawnleelynn, the author of that site is Glory Ann Kurtz who was the editor of Quarter Horse News for 30 years or so. She and Sally Harrison are credible but it's always good to get corroborating articles in the event material is challenged. I'm currrently working on Project Dogs and a few other equine articles including Tuesdee Testa, but if I catch a break, I'll check in on you. Atsme Talk 📧 03:43, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Atsme Thank you, I'll take a look at it tomorrow. dawnleelynn(talk) 04:29, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Atsme Just wanted you to know, your advice helped me make significant headway on the sources today. The next few days I'll be able to do some reconstruction on the article. I think maybe down the road you'll be able to just take a look at it at a high level with an at your convenience type of deal. Thanks! dawnleelynn(talk) 05:22, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Atsme Hey, I see you are working on this. I think I dropped the ball a bit. But let me know if and when I should do some editing on this subject. Thanks!! dawnleelynn(talk) 21:54, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing the pedigree chart which I find to be tedious work. Your efforts are much appreciated. Atsme Talk 📧 23:01, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Atsme Anytime you need a pedigree chart, just ask. When I was in my 20s, I used to work in data entry as I made my way up the ladder to my desired career. I don't mind doing them, and I'm a fast typist. Well, just like Smart Little Lena, you had much more knowledge here than me. But I don't want to make a habit of pulling you into horse articles that need serious rewriting. But this one looks so much better.
Oh, and just so you know I've filled in some of the missing articles for the NRHA, the NRCHA, and the NSBA. Letting you know so you can wikilink to them in the future or wikilink names in the articles, not asking you to review them. Also I do work on the bucking horse article on and off. Trying to figure out what to include from the bronc riding book into the article now that I've gone over it and summarized it. I've done the first part regarding the mustangs in the beginning. I tried to find information on Australia and Europe, but had a tough time. I'll keep working on it though. I know you have your projects...I shouldn't be bugging you with any more cutting horse articles. Thanks though...I watched the recovery video and Dual Peppy looked like such a pleasant, friendly horse.
These are complete
National Reining Horse Association Champions and Awards This one is still a userdraft. The website page for these world champions on the external website is huge. I have a feeling not all of these world champion are actually notable for an article. Still trying to figure it out.
National Snaffle Bit Association - For world champions I did not do an article because I cannot tell from the website which they are. But, I know nothing about this sport. LOL
