really old picture

[edit]

Is there a way to get a better, not-as-old picture of the school? I can get some shots of the main building from the front, but not from the air. (I go to Druid Hills, but not for much longer--graduating on May 25.) Homogenized13 23:50, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That'd be great. Feel free to edit in the picture, as well. All constructive edits to this article are appreciated. --Lifebaka 00:17, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete Article

[edit]

When was the North building built? When was special education eliminated? No mention of the merger with Briarcliff High school in the 80's. No mention of the many traditions that have come and gone (Baron's Hall, Stunt Night, Spring Fest, etc). The school paper, the yearbook? Who wrote this article? Very shoddy job. Very shoddy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.64.185.51 (talkcontribs) 02:45, July 24, 2007

Umm... Baron's Hall and Stunt Night are both still going on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.218.111.38 (talkcontribs) 20:33, August 6, 2007

I have just gone and retrieved references for a bit of the content on this article. I also removed a lot of content. Removed content was unsourced, a violation of one or more copyrights, read like an advertisement, or had multiple of the above problems.

New additions to this article should be sourced. I will remove ALL unsourced content added here, regardless of whether or not it is constructive. It shouldn't be that hard to find sources, people. Thank you. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 20:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added Hermann Flaschka

[edit]

If one of your human or robotic source checkers is going to stumble over it: I have no idea how to source personal experience. He definitely went to DHHS. And yes, we're sure it was THAT Hermann and not sb. by the same name. I guess even a sworn affidavit by the man himself wouldn't satisfy the "reputable source" crowd. Maybe you can find s.b. with a year book? It's nice to show that the school did produce notable scientists. Arts, sports and politics isn't all it prepped for. 99.11.160.111 (talk) 23:15, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If Flaschka has an official website/blog/twitter/whatever (that's confirmed as his) and notes that he attended there, we'd be able to source it to that. Or he could send an email to our open ticket request system to confirm. Alternatively, I'll see if I can head over to the DeKalb County school system and see if they have an archived copy of the old yearbook, to see if it could be used. I'd check with the Druid Hills staff themselves, but they won't be available until the 2011-12 school year starts in August. Cheers. lifebaka++ 23:44, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Found him [1] I was off by a year. He was '62 not '63. (He may have graduated early.)99.11.160.111 (talk) 20:55, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Movie filmed at DHHS

[edit]

The 2000 movie Remember the Titans used DHHS as a set. Here's a reference http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0210945/trivia Please add where you think it fits. 99.11.160.111 (talk) 04:54, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location and Georgia state highway maps

[edit]

I found this Georgia state highway map indicates the location of Druid Hills HS, but doesn't label it, sadly:

  • "General Highway Map Dekalb County Georgia" (PDF). Georgia Department of Transportation. 2022.

Usually these maps are useful for checking if schools are in unincorporated areas. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:29, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
