More accurate list of beaches

[edit]

I live in mainland Toms River and am a lifeguard at Ocean Beach Shores. I thought it might be helpful to clear some things up about the beaches. As we are all private beaches, there are many to keep track off, but during our morning radio checks, my beach runs, and lifeguard tournaments, I've learned the order. From South to North, there are as follows:

Ocean Beach I TriBeach Ocean Beach Shores Monterey Beach Ocean Beach II Seacrest Rustic Dunes Ocean Beach III Chadwick Beach Silver Beach Normandy Shores Normandy Beach (half shared with Brick Township)

Notes: These are all private organizations and clubs that own these beaches. Often, the people on the block run the clubs with their own elections, votes on policies, and other rules. Ocean Beach I, II, III, and Shores are NOT the same beach, as stated in this article. They are completely separate organizations. Ocean Beach I is run by the Ocean Beach Surf Club. Ocean Beach Shores is run by the Ocean Beach Shores Club. Ocean Beach II is run by the Ocean Beach & Yacht Club. Ocean Beach III is run by the Ocean Beach & Bay Club. TriBeach used to be multiple beaches that joined together, including Sunset Manor in the north and Brighton in the middle. I don't know the name of the southern one. Many beaches privately own the property (land, roads, and beaches) from bay to beach. For example, Monterey Beach includes not only the ocean beach, but also a small bay beach with a playground and a floating dock. Chadwick Beach owns an island in the bay as well. Some beaches, such as Rustic Dunes, own only a small chunk of beach and land (Rustic Dunes is in charge only of a small apartment complex near the Ocean Beach Fire Department and the adjacent beach with no holdings on the bay side of the peninsula).

I hope this clears some things up, because this page is drastically misinformative. I have no sources---only my own knowledge and experiences---but I imagine most of this information can easily be verified through this clubs' websites. RyanZtr (talk) 02:01, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
