Fair use rationale for Image:Doreen Kimura.jpg

[edit]

Image:Doreen Kimura.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Spouses

[edit]

It seems form this SPS that Kimura married at least twice, first to a Case Vanderwolf. But I can find nothing from a WP:RS. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:23, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Image and marriages

[edit]

Hi .. This is Charlotte Thistle, Doreen Kimura's daughter. I tried several times to upload a photo of her ... first it came up really tiny, so I tried to make it bigger ... then the page wouldn't allow me to upload again. If you can fix it, please do. I would like to have a nice picture of her here! As to the photo which people seem to be disputing 'fair use' of ... I can't figure out how to view that photo, but as my mom's heir I will happily authorize use of her photo as long as it is one she approved for public use during her life, or one that I feel pretty sure she wouldn't have minded being displayed, which it probably is if you found it on the internet.

Now, as to her past marriages: Her first marriage was to a man named Doug Kimura, from whom she got her professional name. Their marriage only lasted about a year. Her second husband, Case Vanderwolf, was my father. They were married for around ten years and separated when I was quite a young child. After they divorced, she reverted to her first married name because she disliked her maiden name, which was "Hogg" (taken from her stepfather who adopted her - she was born while my grandmother was quite young and unmarried, and this is why her name at birth was Goebel, my grandmother's maiden name). Did that make sense? Feel free to contact me for clarification, or anything else you would like to include about my mom in this wiki page. :)

Hi Charlotte, do you have an reliable public sources, about her marriages, that we could use in the article? Non-fair use images are generally deleted and can't be accessed after that. The image you have added at Commons seems to be non-copyright, so I have re-added it with a suggested caption. It would be useful if you could add some categories for it at Commons. Thanks. Unfortunately the image has now been deleted for copyright violation. So we're back to square one, it seems. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:32, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
