Puzzled about the siding
[edit]Perhaps a railway enthusiast can explain. How can a (any) locomotive CHOOSE to pull into a siding? Isn't that a matter of mechanical switching? Or was the doodlebug supposed to stop, operate the switch on a ground frame, move the locomotive, and change the switch back? That seems like a dangerously slow process.
