General Patton

[edit]

It actually isn't vandalism

Your great-great-grandfather's nephew (or however many greats) is technically your cousin. Nareek 02:01, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from all that nonsense, How do we go about adding phtographs to the wikipage... I dont want to just add a photograph and be accused of "Vandalism" Luvodicus 19:26, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found some verification to this, and added it. Looks like it's true. Oh, and I went ahead and re-wrote this stub, expanded it a bit. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:56, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Circumcision

[edit]

Is it really necessary to put he was circumcised in this article, it seems irrelevant to who the person is and what he did/does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.164.103.36 (talk) 14:29, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Just proving he is or isn't must have been a real pain in the ass.(pun intended) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.169.224.104 (talk) 16:06, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

what the hell happened here?

[edit]

Seriously, look at the page.It is just a broken link that is supposed to be a picture. What happened to the article?(if it did, in fact, exist.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.250.155 (talk) 07:45, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The page was vandalized. It has been reverted. RandomAct(talk to me) 07:50, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thnx for responding so quickly. You know I have loved Wikipedia since it first came out, and it's user-generated content has played a large part in it's success and accesibility. But people doing pointless things like vandalizing the page about the Blue's Clue's guy is sad, and I don't know why people would want to hurt such an informative project such as this... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.250.155 (talk) 06:37, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can review this soon. Seattle (talk) 17:33, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this; I'll start now and try and finish tomorrow afternoon.
  • No DAB links, no files, no dead links
Not sure, but removed just in case.
  • In the tables, year ranges use the ndash (–), not the mdash (—)
Done.
  • The "Role" under the "Film" section should sort by last name, not first, for Davidson and Morris
Not sure that's even possible. I looked at a couple of FL filmographies, and they don't sort roles in this way.
  • Can you mention his birth place and date in the "career" section; its not mentioned anywhere in the text at the moment. To where is this referenced?
There isn't a reliable source with Patton's birthday or place of birth. I removed his birthday from the lead; I understand that it's okay to not reference items in the infobox.
  • He was subjected to the same kind of scrutiny as Burns [...] to earn the role what does this mean? Can you be specific: what scrutiny did Burns face to be cast?
That phrase is almost exactly how the source puts it, without explaining it. Will adding quotes help? I've already done so.
  • more innocent than Steve. Wikipedia uses surnames to describe individuals, not given names, unless disambiguation is needed.
But here we're talking about the characters on the show (Joe and Steve), but Burns. I understand that it's confusing when the actor and character share the same name. ;)
  • He liked Johnson, Burns, or Patton?
Fixed.

I'll have more later. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:25, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • In 2013, Patton filmed Lies I Told My Little Sister, which was shot mostly in New Jersey [...] In 2014, he also appeared in a small movie entitled Lies I Told My Little Sister, directed by William Stribling and starring Lucy Walters Are these two different movies? Why go out of chronological order with the 2013 quote at the beginning of the paragraph, then a 2012 work to follow?
Fixed.
Are you sure that these are two different movies? Seattle (talk) 01:06, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Figureskatingfan: Only this comment left. Seattle (talk) 13:58, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Seattle: sorry for missing this. Taken care of now. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 22:42, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • robot/superhero rework; avoid slash per MOS:SLASH
Fixed.
  • about Team Umizoomi, "The no need for caps on the "The"
Fixed.
  • gave him the opportunity to be a part of a show from its very beginning, and seeing its genesis, something he had missed with Blue's Clues reads awkwardly; can you rework?
Yes I can; changed to: "He stated that he enjoyed working on Team Umizoomi because it gave him the opportunity to participate in a show from its inception, which he had missed with Blue's Clues." I think that it reads more smooth now.
Ok.

Comments all addressed now. Thanks for the feedback; sorry it took so long. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 01:25, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do look over the article I sent; I know there's information there that isn't in our article, such as the academic institution he attended, and bits on his early life. Seattle (talk) 02:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Seattle: I've finally added content from the TV Guide source, as per your recommendation. Sorry that it took so long, and thanks for your patience. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 00:45, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
