Photo issues
[edit]So we don't devolve into an edit war, @AbleGus why do you keep changing the image back to the image of the group and not an image of Baldwin himself, you're summaries say "Restored clearer image", but in what world is this clearer than this. I can understand you're objections to the image I was previously using, as it does obscure his face but the former photo is a clear.
A similar situation is mentioned in MOS:IMAGEQUALITY where it preferred an image actually of the subject. Can we please sort this situation out in a reasonable way. Mewhen123 (talk) 14:17, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- The image you added is being reverted because subject's face is completely in the shadows and has a blurry drumstick waving in front of it. Per the MOS:IMAGEQUALITY guideline you provided, note that it states "Poor-quality images—dark or blurry ... should not be used." The blurred and shadowy images you have posted on this page are not an improvement over the previous image, so it should not be used. I am restoring the prior image. Regards, AbleGus (talk) 04:04, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- MOS:IMAGEQUALITY also states A biography should lead with a portrait photograph of the subject alone, not with other people. I stopped using face obscured image and have instead used this image. In the group image his likeness is obscured by sunglasses and the image is very low quality so when you zoom it still doesn't accurately represent his likeness. MOS:IMAGEQUALITY also states poor quality images as "showing the subject too small" and that these should not be used.
- I can understand your point of it being a bit shadowy but that concern is trumped by fact that your image is against two points on MOS:IMAGEQUALITY.
- MOS:LEADIMAGE also states "Lead images should be natural and appropriate representations of the topic" I would consider Baldwin actively playing a drum kit a more appropriate representation of him than a bunch of people standing Infront of a bus. Mewhen123 (talk) 09:49, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- if you object to the image then this image could also work. Mewhen123 (talk) 10:40, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- the group photo had been deleted due to copyright violation. I have added the image above to the article. Mewhen123 (talk) 18:37, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- if you object to the image then this image could also work. Mewhen123 (talk) 10:40, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
