Ongoing Combat
[edit]Reports are coming in of a new battle at the airport in 2022 via Twitter with Ukrainian troops retaking the airport. No official news yet, but keep an eye out for it as the situation clarifies: https://twitter.com/GoncharenkoUa/status/1568643958074392577 https://twitter.com/WarMonitor3/status/1568652790318223361 Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 18:05, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- To be clear as I was saying none of this is confirmed yet, and various sources are also claiming that the previous reports were fabricated. Just keeping it in mind in the talk page in case the situation changes and official news comes out showing anything different. https://twitter.com/GeoConfirmed/status/1568741048729337859 Do not recommend editing Wiki article until official sources verify either situation. - Yeah, there were a lot of inaccurate reports of sudden Ukrainian penetrations elsewhere along the front during the 2022 Kharkiv counteroffensive. Up there with Serhiy Haidai posting a pic of Ukrainian troops at the Lysychansk welcome sign. It was probably a somewhat deliberate information operation; the shocking extent of the actual collapse in the north was due mainly to psychological factors. Censorship of the Soviet era history
[edit]Both the Russian and Ukranian language wiki recognize that an airfield was in comission since the 30's. In fact, this very article in the final section shows soviet-era Donetsk Airport badges and stories. However on the actual history section everything has been supressed until now. The airport was not made in 2012 for the Euro soccer championship, it had been in operation for over 80 years prior. 190.195.147.121 (talk) 11:37, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
