Donetsian Coal BasinDonets Coal Basin – There is no such name as Donetsian Coal Basin. It is a Wikipedia invention. Donets Coal Basin or Donets Basin are the proper names for it. Since Donets Basin is used for a pro-Russian cultural region in Ukraine, Donets Coal Basin could be a good alternative to emphasize the transnational industrial region. • Change to Donets Coal Basin. Once the page is moved, please also delete the redirects Donetsian Black Coal Basin and Donetsian Coal Basin, these are terms invented by User:Ιγκόρ on 20 July 2018. MOS:NEO makes it clear that neologisms should generally be avoided, and that when their use is necessary their meaning must be supported by reliable sources. There are no reliable sources that use the term "Donetsian Coal Basin". A search on Google for "Donetsian Coal Basin" reveals only sources that get their content from Wikipedia.[1] A search for "Donets Coal Basin" produces large numbers of references from reliable sources.[2]-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:39, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to Donbass#Economy. The common name of this is "Donbass", and this is arguably a content fork of that article. The article has exactly two useful sentences: Donets basin represents one of the largest coal reserves in Ukraine having estimated reserves of 60 billion tonnes of coal. Mid-March 2017 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on a temporary ban on the movement of goods to and from territory controlled by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic meaning that since then Ukraine does not buy coal from the Donets Coal Basin., plus a link to Bogdanovskoye coalfield and those would gracefully fit into the parent article. If someone wants to expand this to actually contain useful information about coal production, it's surely welcome, but it hasn't happened since 2013, and Coal in Ukraine is more informative. Barring merge, yeah, rename it to something sensible. No such user (talk) 11:22, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
