[edit]- There are a lot of issues here that need to be addressed in the prose.
Lead
[edit]- It was written and produced by herself, DJ Clue, Duro, and Mystikal. → it seems that Mystikal is also a producer. "It was written by herself, DJ Clue, Duro, and Mystikal, while production was handled by the former three."
- produced by Tom Browne and Toni Smith → produced by Tom Browne and Toni Smith, who are credited as co-writers.
- Toni Smith. → shouldn't bee Carrollyne Smith? Or is it the same person? If it is the name should be per liner notes of Glitter.
- was a commercial disappointment → failed to mane any significant impact on the charts, I don't like the word disappointment here.
- It did not chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, but it appeared at number 23 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart → It appeared on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, a component of the US Billboard Hot 100, by peaking at number 123.
- The Bubbling Under is a separate chart, so I didn't put 123... would seem a bit informal
- You need to mention that it instead peaked on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 component chart. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:22, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- UK → United Kingdom
- Isn't also an R&B song?
- More information could be added here such as...something else from the music video, like the three Mariahs but summarise; the reviews commented on a couple more stuff like "praise of the song overall" and something for the negative side as well, something regarding the MTV appearance

Background
[edit]- following single "Never Too Far" was a commercial dissapointment → not on citation given; dissapointment → disappointment
- Dotmusic cites a release date that is not the given on the article and it is not used anywhere else, should be included on a release history
- I'm now using this release date, and I don't find really necessary a whole separate release history section for this one date
- Agree as of now, you only have one date. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:53, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

Composition
[edit]- Need to add the genres of the song here along with the source for it.
- I've removed the genres because I didn't find reliable sources for them
- Isn't Carrollyne Smith a songwriter as well?
- Jezebel is a blog, not reliable at all.

Critical reception
[edit]- "capture[s] the movie's 80's milieu to perfection (with production so clinical you wonder whether the engineers work masks and gowns at the mixing desk)" → use your own words more often
- "not even Mystikal could help a track that was cursed by simply being part of the Glitter soundtrack. Its catchiness is undeniable and DJ Kool's prints are all over this. It's a shame it didn't receive one bit of attention" → same as the previous
- Jezebel → doesn't seem reliable

Chart performance
[edit]- Language in here is a bit informal.
- was a commercial disappointment. → failed to make any significant impact on the charts.
- It did not chart on the US Billboard Hot 100 at all, but the song appeared at number 23 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles → It failed to reach the US Billboard Hot 100, however it peaked inside of the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which acts as an extension of the former chart, peaking at number 123
- and failed to reach the top-forty in most countries → examples should be after this; and failed to reach the top-forty in most countries. It peaked at numbers 67 and 65 in the Netherlands and Switzerland, respectively
- enjoyed moderate success → the same moderate success of the Hot 100? I don't see it as a success, remove it
Done
Music video
[edit]- It premiered → The music video premiered
- The video, featuring southern bayous and lifestyles, is set in a nightclub with Mystikal on stage performing for an enthusiastic crowd. → It is set in a nightclub with Mystikal on stage performing for an enthusiastic crowd, featuring southern bayous and lifestyles
- On stage left → Not sure what you mean here, I'm guessing is the left side of the stage.
- "Mariah and the most annoying rapper around head to the swamps of New Orleans for a rager" and highlighted the fact that "Mariah's ego got so big it splintered off into triplet form → use your own words more often

Not done and it needs to be used as well on the Credits and personnel tracklist
