Deleting the "Contestants"

[edit]

To the user deleting the "Contestants" section of this article, why are you doing this? This is relevant and factual information. Nhennies 20:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Authenticity?

[edit]

I've only been to this wiki entry once, but at first glance I think the part about speculation on the show's authenticity is speculation in and of itself. Who's speculating that? You? Not to mention that, well frankly, who cares? It's a game show and no one is explicitly stating that the contestants are average joes off the street. In fact, since Wayne Brady is hosting it I would expect some of his fellow actors and comedians to guest star.Funkbomb 20:54, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's pure speculation, because I know Luke Adams worked as a karaoke DJ in Burbank five nights a week until recently.--Gangster Octopus 05:45, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. It is speculation. And pointless speculation. Unless there is a rule that actors and professional performers aren't allowed to be contestants, then who cares? Also, I note, it is unreferenced. 124.168.24.65 (talk) 09:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. I note 40-year-old Luke Adams has a single www.imdb.com credit, from 2000! Big deal. 124.168.24.65 (talk) 09:48, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Top Money

[edit]

Does anyone happen to know the top money-winner on the show? I believe that two people have won $350,000, but has anyone won more than that? Beesenitch 04:12, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone did make it to the Million Dollar Song but then quit, so guess it's $500,000 now ViperSnake151 22:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note on the final sentence of: "Ashley McCohn had been a contestant on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? only minutes before becoming a contestant on Don't Forget the Lyrics. She did not win any money on either show (missing on the $1,000 question on the former and the $10,000 song on the latter). Also, she became the first contestant in history to compete on two gameshows on the same night." This is not true, earlier in the year (May) it happened in australia on 1 vs 100 and the rich list .... http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2007/05/one-guy-two-game-shows.html I think it needs to be deleted192.120.13.131 09:40, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question on the above fact. I have never seen anyone yet attempt the Million Dollar song. My only question is, what would qualify as a "#1 Hit"? Is it like a song that made #1 on the Billboard charts or something? Please send me a message if anyone has an answer to this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Luckybolt (talkcontribs) 22:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but I'm quite sure that the synidcated version, at least, used Encore Songs which were NOT number one hits in Billboard. The songs weren't referred to as number one hits on the show, either. I'm taking that out. Brettalan (talk) 17:38, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To the person who keeps changing the winner of the first Top Prize. why are you doing this? This is factual information. You do not even know the last name of the person you keep adding (Sandra). Then you delete mine saying I don't have a reference and don't put one either? It's fine if you want her on there but why won't you let me say Karina Buettgenbach was the first? This is a relevant and true FACT. I am probably the only person who was actually on this show who is editing that so why won't you let me write what is true? I added a reference for you so please stop. Thanks. Rina501 (talk) 02:34, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See my response to this below under #Karina Buettgenbach. Sorry I didn't see this until I looked at the diff under your contributions. This should have been added under the other comments.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 18:20, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Americas/Jingle Bell Rock

[edit]

I'm confused as to what is meant by the statement that there were 2 correct answers to the lyrics in "Jingle Bell Rock". I'm not even sure how to word the sentence correctly if it is a statement of fact. If it is a statement of fact, it is controversial and should have a definite source.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:03, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nigerian Version

[edit]

There also appears to be a Nigerian version of the programme, it's shown on the NTA channel.82.27.77.14 (talk) 20:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I watched the debut of Don't forget the lyrics last night on mynetwork tv. I LOVE THIS SHOW, and I hope it stays around for a while!

International versions

[edit]

I have replaced the International versions (in details) with hidden tags, so the page won't be so long, this is done after noticing that Sottolacqua had deleted/removed the details of International versions which is important, which many of the shows doesn't have their individual pages. Karina Buettgenbach

[edit]

Why do people keep wanting to reinsert information about her without a real source?

Someone actually gave a reference but I went there and didn't find a thing. Not even the contact information this person claimed would be there. I was going to go there, not seriously expecting a result.

A lot of download sites identify the episode as number 13, though I don't know when that would have aired. Supposedly it would have been October 6, since the syndicated version began September 20.

It could be my TiVo messed up somehow and I didn't see the episode the first time around. But I do know for sure MyNetwork aired the episode November 16.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 16:38, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason today I'm finding numerous sites that give the air date as October 4, and these sites look reliable. This wasn't happening yesterday.

I guess my TiVo messed up somehow. I was at the beach and maybe forgot to tell it to save the episode.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 16:25, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still not convinced her episode aired October 4. One of the sources I found gave a listing of October 4 on a station that airs two episodes a day, which is where the confusion may have come from. I also went back and looked at the first time someone claiming to be Karina Buettgenbach entered her information in the article. She said she won on the first day of taping; I suppose many episodes get taped per day, then. Or they're taped out of order. This person also claimed Bo Bice won $50,000 on the same day. Where I live, the date that was there to begin with was correct. It is possible that in some areas both episodes did air the same day. However, where I live, there is one episode a day. This has yet to be resolved. The sources DO indicate some people saw her on October 4. That would certainly explain why I didn't when I got back from the beach, though I can't explain why I've never seen her in the daily version.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:14, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

In line with what we have for international series like Idol series and The X Factor (TV series), I have moved all non-American materials to a main page for the international versions, keeping the American materials here. This way the visibility and the utility of the other shows is highlighted in Don't Forget the Lyrics! and there is better focus here on the American show itself. I know it is a drastic move but it was well overdue. Hopefully now there will be better additions on various country section on the newly created "international" page werldwayd (talk) 19:56, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Forget the Lyrics! (2022 American TV series)

[edit]

I made a draft for a split to focus on the new series, with an episode table. It needs a few more things but I wanted to ask if we should split. SecondLooneyaccount (talk) 17:20, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
