Name issue and expansion notes
[edit]I'm of the opinion this article's title should just be Matsqui, with the District of Matsqui a section within it, given the multiple meanings of the name; the most common usage nowadays is for Matsqui Village and/or for Matsqui Prairie; the latter is a landform as much as a community so I included the "geography" switch in the WPCanada template. There is more name/history information in the BCGNIS ref for Matsqui which is not yet incorporated here.Skookum1 (talk) 13:24, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Well those things are for different usages and this page is about the District and I don't believe all of the Matsqui Prairie area was even apart of the District. RebaFan1996 (talk) 00:11, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think you're right - the naval base wasn't part of the municipality, I think. Maybe some of the other areas along the foot of Sumas Mountain....an old map of the CFVRD might help, but there doesn't appear to be one on-line....Matsqui Prairie is an official landform-name though, and can have a separate article...Skookum1 (talk) 02:10, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
