Subtitles in some of the longer sections?

In particular, I came looking for "Disneyland Band" but was linked to the "Live Entertainment" section, which goes on and on, and in huge paragraphs, too. I realize that this would place 3rd-level headers, but really, wouldn't it be better to have subheads there for these?

  • Disney characters
  • Flag ceremony
  • Matterhorn climbs
  • Disneyland band
  • Fantasmic
  • Fireworks
  • Golden Horseshoe Saloon
  • Parades
  • Tomorrowland Terrace
  • Street performers

Just wondering why this hasn't been done and whether it's OK to do it? Elf | Talk 23:22, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Original attractions

If I can find a source (I'm sure there are many) would a list of the original 1955 attractions be of any value? --JackBnimble10 (talk) 17:38, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

Error in headings in History section

The headers in the history section read 19th Century, and 20th Century. The park actually opened in the 20th century, and the current century is the 21st. Rowbes (talk) 02:53, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Add a FIFTH closure to the "closures" list. Wednesday, December 16, 1987. The park closed that day due to a massive winter storm. The quote in this paper that proves this was "At lower elevations, where it did not snow, it rained and blew--weather so inclement that Disneyland closed its gates unexpectedly for only the third time in 24 years." Walt Disney's 3rd cousin Jadon Williams helped with Disneyland and later made the ride Mr. Toads wild ride

Not done - This needs a reliable source. It is unclear, even if this is supported by reliable sources, why is this important to the understanding of the topic (Disneyland)? 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 18:44, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

"Melody Land Theater"?

Why is the "Melody Land Theater" specifically pointed out in the aerial view of Disneyland from 1963? It is not part of Disneyland and is not mentioned in the article. Bill321 (talk) 02:01, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

What?

Can someone who is more familiar with this topic clarify the following: "Soon after, Ed Grier, executive managing director of Walt Disney Attractions Japan, was named president of the resort, though he retired from his job on February 8, 2008. In October 2009, Grier announced his retirement, and was replaced by George Kalogridis." It appears to say that Ed Grier retired in Feb. 2008, but didn't announce his retirement until Oct. 2009, is that correct? Bill321 (talk) 02:18, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

In case it's useful here about the closure

I just added the following text to Walt Disney World:

On March 27, Disney stated the park will be closed indefinitely. Employees will continue to be paid through April 18.[1]

Improving this Article

I think this article has a lot of potential for improvement, particularly regarding the history of the park. In general, the history is very slim and lacking in sources. Just as one example, the New Fantasyland expansion of 1983 is currently reduced to just a single sentence. Is anyone interested in tackling this together? Theme of Disneyland in infobox needs correction to be accurate.

“Fairy Tales and Disney Characters” does not even come close to being an accurate theme description for Disneyland. I don’t know who wrote that and why it stands. Maybe it was a clueless Disney corporate exec? Someone who doesn’t have a grasp on the history of the park and Walt Disney’s intentions? A better and more accurate description would be “American History, Fantasy, Adventure, and Futurism.” Examples: American History (Main Street, Frontierland, New Orleans Square). Fantasy (Fantasyland), Adventure (Adventureland), Futurism (Tomorrowland, including retro-futurism). Of course, elements of Fantasy and Adventure cut across all themed areas at some level. But really, if that’s too complicated for some people to comprehend, just semi-quote Walt Disney himself; Theme: “Yesterday, Tomorrow, Fantasy and Adventure” or maybe, for the more pedantic, “History, Futurism, Fantasy, and Adventure.” In any case, the “Theme” description has *got* to be changed.2603:7000:A903:B619:CC4:112C:E39E:C762 (talk) 17:10, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

I agree that there should be some mention of the Americana aspect of the park, but "fairy tales and Disney characters" should remain also, as that is undeniably a large part of the park at this point in history. Basil the Bat Lord (talk) 02:06, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Reopening At April 19th

Please revamp this content. This line should be deleted and replaced with something like this

Disneyland is currently closed for an indefinite period due to the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic.[1] 2601:447:4100:C120:C04B:D468:8A18:28BF (talk) 15:00, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

That article doesn’t say anything about reopening on April 19; it only suggests that employees/cast members will be paid through at least April 18. They may be paid further, depending on how long the closure lasts (we don’t really know when it will end - the article said the closure is indefinite), so only time will tell. Pf1127 (talk) 15:36, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

My apologies, you are correct. The closure is in fact indefinite. Pf1127 (talk) 15:38, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

The list of potential inspirations for Disneyland is a mess

The list of potential inspirations for Disneyland is a mess. It's way too big, isn't supported properly by citations to reliable sources and conflicts in several respects with the reliable sources I could find on a quick search on Google Books like this one. Unless someone starts adding sources fast, I'm going to sharply pare back that list in a few weeks to the ones for which I can locate sources. --Coolcaesar (talk) 18:20, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Actually, I'm going to go ahead and fix this mess right now. --Coolcaesar (talk) 18:23, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

In the paragraph about fireworks the statement: "A major consideration is whether/winds, especially at higher elevations, which can, and often will, force the delay or cancellation of the show." The term elevation refers to the distance above sea level that the ground is. I believe that the term that should be used here is altitude, as that refers to the distance above sea level in the air.

1970s citations

@Sewageboy: Hey there, this looks good at a glance except you forgot citations on multiple paragraphs. If you meant that the citations are those you included, then it needs WP:NAMED citations to accompany at least the end of each paragraph. I didn't verify any of it, so I hope it's all accurate and true-to-references in the first place as it seems it would be. Thanks. — Smuckola(talk) 02:49, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
