How do Disney Cruises differ from other major cruise lines?
[edit]This article fails to address what makes Disney Cruises different from other major cruise lines, such as Carnival? Do they offer Disney themed shows? Other Disney themed entertainment? What is it, beyond merely being a Disney run cruise line, that would make people want to book a Disney cruise over others. Also, are there things more tightly restricted, prohibited outright/not available on a Disney Cruise that are allowed other cruise lines like alcohol, gambling, etc.? There needs to be more info on what sets Disney cruise ships apart from other cruise ships. --Notcharliechaplin (talk) 16:24, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- It certainly would be notable to list what features a Disney Cruise Line voyage features, although it would be non-neutral to try and emphasize that the way Disney does things is overall better than other lines. It is worth noting that their ships have no on-board casinos, but some specialty lines (which operate much smaller ships than lines like Disney and Carnival) may not have them either. And you can get some rather potent adult beverages on Disney ships. :) Again, it all must be reliably cited to be included ... if a noted travel writer points out that Disney ships don't have casinos, for instance, that'd be a good way to add it. --McDoobAU93 17:22, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- I agree we should not try and describe what if anything makes them "better" as that is subjective and not NPOV, but what makes them different, especially compared with larger cruise lines, is worthy of inclusion. I would include info on theming, onboard entertainment/show (especially Disney themed ones), any special restrictions on Disney Cruises that would set it apart from larger cruise lines, etc. Certainly, there are cruise ship guides that would delve more deeply into what Disney Cruises offer over larger cruise lines. It is also acceptable to some degree to quote from Disney Cruise pamphlets, websites, etc. when detailing things like emanates and such offer on their cruises and cruise ships. Any differences we mention need not be limited to just Disney Cruise ships per se just not standard features of cruise ships/lines in general. So we don't need to mention they have different classes of rooms, for example, but we could mention they do not have gambling on-baord, for example, especially if that is something they promote. We should especially focus on differences Disney itself promotes as setting their cruise line apart from others. --Notcharliechaplin (talk) 16:32, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
Dry Dock History
[edit]Would there be any objection to adding a column (or two) for dry dock dates and locations to the table of ships under Current? Most of the references would come from The Disney Cruise Line Blog. Should it go before or after the images?John Rotunni (talk) 15:18, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

picture of the newbuilt
[edit]What preaks against the picture of the newbuilt? That's the ship under construction, the former Global Dream, due to the Disney company and the shipyard. commons:Category:''Global Dream'' (ship, 2021) [Disney Cruise Line Announces Acquisition of Ship with Plans to Visit New Markets - Disney Cruise Line News (dclnews.com)] [Press Detail (meyerwerft.de)]. Now we have a column named Image in the table without any image. HenSti (talk) 09:13, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Changing Triton to Wish Class
[edit]Hey! Just wondering why my edit was reverted? Just wanting to understand if this was just poor editing by me or if you guys assumed this was not true? If you want me to source where this is from I can! Here is the official blog post where at the bottom they call it the Wish Class. Any issues happy to know! StuartDA (talk) 20:22, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
