The article is contradictory as it stands. According to the definition on the page, a translation is a dilation. A translation does not have a fixed point, however.

Possible Duplication

No, for two reasons:
  1. The transformations described in the scaling algorithm don't allow for rotations; the ones here do, and
  2. This is about general metric spaces, not just Euclidean spaces.
