[edit]The article requires referenced information on what he accomplished besides the fact of his holding the governorship. The entire stub article is taken up with the scandal and with the presence of an irrelevant section (which I'm deleting) on the 419 scam. The article should state in neutral language what noteworthy things he did before he was governor and during his years as governor. Gallador (talk) 16:40, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
[1] It look like the rascal skipped the bail. The funny part is, how can he continue to lead after such an exposure? Unsigned comment by Wk muriithi
If he is so corrupt, why does the militant Nigerian group MEND demand his release? I somehow doubt they would go so far for a corrupt politician.
I suppose I must question the neutrality of this article.
Nevertheless they did demand his release, as can be seen here : http://www.irinnews.org/report.aspx?reportid=58260 and here: http://www.tribune.com.ng/09082007/politics.html The issue does not make sense until you take into account political intricacies of the Nigerian 'south south'. One way of seeing it is that loyalty to an Ijaw leader overrides other considerations. Another way of seeing it is that some of the beneficiaries of his corruption were the militants themselves. A third way of seeing it is that the demand was a red herring, the militants deliberately trying to frustrate the government with their demands. but they did demand his release, whatever your ideas about 'neutrality' are.
