Devious licksDevious Licks – Licks should be capitalized because multiple RS cited in article capitalize both words. Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 03:00, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@BarrelProof: Seconded - Per WP:COMMONNAME. 174.198.202.168 (talk) 12:28, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose for all the reasons given above, and because 'devious lick' obviously isn't a proper noun and should not be capitalized. Just because a source employs bad grammar or has misspellings doesn't mean Wikipedia needs to follow suit. Joe (talk) 22:50, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Are" → "were"?

[edit]

Because the trend has been banned off the app, should the tense of the article be changed? —  Melofors  TC 01:03, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of the name

[edit]

Origin section doesn't mention how the trend got its' name - does anyone know? Oriiiiii (talk) 11:54, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Oriiiiii: What do you mean? It says in the first sentence that the name originated from a caption in the first video. —  Melofors  TC 17:54, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Aftermath?

[edit]

Devious licks recently gave way to a list of monthly TikTok "challenges" for the 2021–2022 academic year, which seems to be supported by a few reliable sources.[1][2][3][4][5] A notable challenge on the list, which is for this month (October), is the "slap a teacher challenge"; reliable sources for this "challenge" can be found with a quick, simple Google search. I'm thinking about adding an 'aftermath' section, but it seems like devious licks are still going on. Should I add it? Let me know. Thank you in advance for your inputs. Covid context

[edit]

I'm on mobile, but I think it'd be helpful to note the timeline's relation to the Covid 19 pandemic. It seems that the challenge started as American students returned back from remote learning, which might be relevant. SheepTester (talk) 08:25, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
