Sources

[edit]

You asked for sources. For the names of the editors, see here. About the rest - it's more or less common knowledge (Ludwig Bledow, the end of the magazine etc). The article deserves an enlargement. Therefore, we hope to find some more detailed source on the history of Deutsche Schachzeitung. --DaQuirin (talk) 12:53, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Frequency of Publication

Was this a monthly magazine, a weekly, semi-weekly, bi-weekly? J S Ayer (talk) 01:08, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguous

[edit]

Deutsche Schachzeitung refers to two separate periodicals.

The first was published in two volumes in 1846 & 1847 in Leipzig, edited by Herrmann Hirschbach.

The second was the continuation of Schachzeitung that started in 1872.

Using the term 'Deutsche Schachzeitung' to refer to the early years of Schachzeitung der Berliner Schachgesellschaft is promoting an ambiguity, as well as denying Herrmann Hirschbach's work an independent existence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Athulin (talkcontribs) 13:31, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
