[edit]We've had a series of edits today from someone obviously connected with Derby Theatre. The end result was a complete mess. They pasted the entire contents of that article into this one (previously a redirect to Derby Theatre) and left all the material there as well. Given the issues discussed at Talk:Derby Theatre last May, it probably is sensible to have separate articles for the pre- and post-2008 theatre, especially since from 1975 until 2008, Derby Playhouse was also a production company operating as Derby Playhouse Ltd. What I've done is remove virtually all the redundant material from Derby Theatre and bring it up to date. I've tagged this newly created Derby Playhouse for multiple issues. I've also made some minimum clarifications, but it needs a complete rewrite with extensive copyediting and restructuring. It's currently a disorganized and unencyclopedic morass of soapboxing, puffery, original research, and repetition. Hopefully someone from WikiProject Derby or WikiProject Theatre will take it on. - Update: I've restructured and pruned the article to remove the extreme repetition of material and made the History section more coherent. The article as a whole still needs greatly improved referencing (and formatting of the existing references). The Production section still requires extensive copyediting for cohesion and encyclopedic tone. Voceditenore (talk) 18:18, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've finished cleaning this up and copyediting all sections. I've also added multiple new references, formatted the existing ones, and removed all the maintenance tags. Voceditenore (talk) 07:02, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
Copyright problem removed
[edit]The material pasted into this article from Derby Theatre contained considerable material which appears to have been copied verbatim into the latter article in December 2007 [1] from this page at picturethepast.org.uk. I have consequently rewritten it. Voceditenore (talk) 09:11, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
