Notability is unclear. There is claim to have won an IBBY Award in 1994. In looking at the IBBY Hans Christian Anderson award, this is a list of the nominees from 1956 to 2002. The 1994 nominees were Michio Mado and Jorg Muller. So it isn't this award. The Jella Lepman Medla was awarded in 1991, and not again until 2005. So it isn't that one either. The Asahi Reading Promotion Award goes to projects, and not individual people, so that isn't it either.
