Wording

[edit]

I find the wording "The party was sponsored by Mapai, as Ben Gurion was keen to include Israeli Arabs in the functioning of the state in order to prove Jews and Arabs could co-exist peacefully and productively, and during the 1950s several other Israeli Arab parties associated with Mapai appeared." a bit odd. It should also be stated that separate Arab parties had been founded as Mapai barred Arabs from membership in their own party. I think Joel Beinin covers the debates in Mapai and Mapam on Arab membership question in some of his works. --Soman (talk) 11:19, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to add it in. I wrote that sentence rather a long time ago, and on reflection, it isn't very well put. пﮟოьεԻ 57 13:23, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
