Use of this expansion is, in my opinion, not relevant to earlier expansions, such as the spread of Indo-European language, for a specific reason: Capital. American immigration was the first to be underwritten by corporations, accelerated with the spread of disease, and the bulk of it happened in less than an century during the period that defined the transition from the horse to mechanized transport.--John Bessa (talk) 21:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
