Real World model for DTX?

[edit]

I believe the inspiration for DTΧ was real-world fraternity Alpha Delta at Dartmouth, who in 1969 dissociated themselves from their former national organization, Alpha Delta Phi and became Alpha Delta. If I am not mistaken one of the writers, Chris Miller, was himself a member of Alpha Delta Phi during that period. Link Animal House #Trivia I'm not going to add this as a section to DTX until somebody confirms this. --Edw28 08:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with that is that nearly every single college campus has an urban legend that one of the houses on campus had been the inspiration for Delta House. Heck, there's even a persistent rumor that the Sigma Nu at my school was the real inspiration (and that Omega was modeled after our Phi Psi! In other words, it means nothing and there were probably a large number of fraternities on a large number of schools that ended up being inspirations for both Delta Tau Chi and Omega Theta Pi. If you read Chris Miller's (Animal House writer) book "The Real Animal House", there is direct reference to Alpha Delta Phi at Dartmouth, also on the cover jacket. Edw28 19:49, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
