Deck or Terrace?
[edit]What's the difference between a deck and a terrace? 68.37.79.248 (talk) 19:35, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
In Norway there are 4 types of "decking"
Terrace, is defined as a decking of some construct immediatly above the ground
"Altan" is what I see when I read "deck". A decking raised above the ground and above the lowest level of the house
Balcony, as described in the wiki
Veranda, part of the structure, with 3 walls and roof, with ballustrade on the open side. Raymond Holmoey (talk) 20:14, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Health hazard fearmongering
[edit]Pressure treated wood however is treated with chemicals which have been known to be toxic.
It seems tangential to start talking about the health hazards and potential symptoms of pressure treated wood, especially since the web site the paragraph cites says some treated wood in the US might be toxic. The way it's written this article makes it sound like you'll be sure to experience a horrible death if you have pressure treated wood in your deck. --80.222.116.28 (talk) 16:11, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
