The importance of the article
[edit]In light of the proposal to delete this article I would like to say the following: In the past 50 years and especially throughout the past decade there has been a fundamental turn-around in the relation of Christian groups towards the Jewish people and Israel. These groups consist of a large number of people, around the world, who have a heart for and support Israel. The Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation which was founded by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, has been engaged, for many years now, in embracing these groups and bridging gaps between Jews and Christians. The importance of this article does not fall short from that of Valentine's Day or International Holocaust Remembrance Day. There is no doubt in my mind as to the importance that this blessed initiative serves and wishes to promote throughout the world in an atmosphere of understanding and the goodwill of man. Thank you. Keep. --Omer Toledano (talk) 11:29, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Are you serious? How can you compare official and longlasting events to a brand new and limited initiative: "Based upon registrants on the CJCUC website, over 25,000 Christians from around the world recited Psalms 113-118" (source). What we have is an interesting initiative with very limited current success on the Christian side (even assuming self-reported numbers are accurate) and limited rabbinical opposition (with no known rabbinical or popular support) on the Jewish side. This is a far cry from anything that can be defined as a major and longlasting event. DGtal (talk) 09:31, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
