Comments This is in excellent shape; minor things to work on:

possibly link Godmerock if there is a chance an article will eventuate.
In the 16th-18th centuries section; "an instruction known as a device in 1544...". It is probably not necessary to reference the form of the instruction (device) or the year, which is already established the previous sentence.
NCOs probably should be recited in full, I suspect that not all readers will be familiar with the term.

Other than the above, the text reads well, and is properly cited. The article is neutral in tone and stable. Nicely illustrated, image tags have been checked and all seem appropriate. Cheers. Zawed (talk) 05:34, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
