Sending Off

[edit]

There's a story that Danny was once booked by a referee and asked for his name. When he gave it, the ref assumed he was being sworn at, and sent Danny off. I recall hearing it on the BBC's Final Score programme, but without a direct sourcing it probably can't be added for now.--MartinUK (talk) 18:32, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two things

[edit]

In the "International" section, it says he played for the Nigerian national squad in World Cup qualifying against South Africa. South Africa hosts the 2010 World Cup Final and did not need to qualify, so maybe it was a friendly. This should be corrected.

Second, the phrase "beating off" (used in the previous section) is awkward as it connotes masturbation. It should be changed. 67.204.16.137 (talk) 02:18, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

___

Response to the above. In the 2010 CAF World Cup Qualifying section, the group stage doubled up as African Cup of Nations qualifying. South Africa still took part in this (and were eliminated) despite their place in the World Cup already being assured. - 23 Aug 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.143.240.34 (talk) 14:19, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'Tank'

[edit]

The sentence about him being frequently referred to as a tank as it holds no factual information and is a very unformative opinion at the very least. Being knowledgeable about the topic I also assume it was put there as a joke or to glorify an average player. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.179.14.245 (talk) 22:21, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Free agent?

[edit]

He's not played since 2015 according to the article. If he had an interest in playing then he'd have signed with someone by now. At 38 he's not a spring chicken. Unless anyone gives me a good reason not to I'll probably change it for "former player" shortly. Cls14 (talk) 22:32, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
