Bacon dog NOT "danger dog"
[edit]I am a California native for the past 20 years and never heard the term "danger dog" for bacon wrapped hot dogs in San Francisco nor have I heard that term used for the same hot dogs by people from Los Angeles. From what I understand people from Los Angeles call it "bacon dogs" too. - KeyboardWarriorOfZion (talk) 11:03, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- Never mind. I looked it up through search engines. It is indeed a term used by people and the term itself makes sense enough. Although I still prefer to call the delicious food "bacon dogs" myself. - KeyboardWarriorOfZion (talk) 11:17, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
The earliest quoted reference is from 2008. However, the term "Danger Dog" was used in the-simpsons-season-13-episode-18-i-am-furious-yellow, the name of a cartoon character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 08:32, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
UK Burger?
[edit]This article states: "In the UK there is the equivalent low quality beef burger frequently sold at concerts and festivals termed the 'death burger'." Why is this even here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.61.141 (talk) 19:52, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Proposed merger
[edit]@Melsj: Hello! You're proposing that Sonoran hot dog be merged into the Danger dog article, and not the other way around, right? — Mudwater (Talk) 12:54, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that's what you're suggesting, so I've enhanced the {{merge}} tags -- here and here -- and, as you can see, started this discussion section. — Mudwater (Talk) 01:57, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose – The Sonoran hot dog article should be left separate. The subject is definitely notable, and also has some cultural significance. That article is pretty short, but it could be expanded, using the existing references, which are pretty extensive. Yes, it's fine the way it is. As a secondary point, I'm not even sure that a Sonoran hot dog is a kind of danger dog, because it's grilled, not deep fried. Either way, though, I think it's better off as a separate article. — Mudwater (Talk) 02:04, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose - The references in the Sonoran hot dog are trusted newspapers in the Arizona area and exclusively refer to the Sonoran hot dog as that product, not a Danger dog. The origins of the latter name seems almost derogatory. If the articles had to be merged, I would propose it be done the other way around. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 23:51, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- Merging them the other way around wouldn't be a good idea either. Francheezie, Jersey breakfast dog, Mission dog, and so on, are not Sonoran hot dogs. — Mudwater (Talk) 04:32, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
It's been several weeks and no one has posted to support merging the articles. So, I'm going to take down the proposed merge tags. — Mudwater (Talk) 11:54, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
