In full disclosure I am a staffer for Congressman Lipinski. I have a few requests for additional information to be displayed on his page, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Lipinski. I had been working with one of the page's editors but he told me he's been very busy and hasn't responded in a while. Please note I am not trying to promote the Congressman, but trying to portray a more accurate and well-rounded picture of him.

The congressman's page is focused almost entirely on his record on socially conservative issues. There are very few mentions of issues where he is more traditionally aligned with the Democratic Party. I think it's important to add some of these so readers know why he's a Democrat and why he has voted with his party 87% of the time since's he's been in Congress.

For one thing, he is a stalwart environmentalist and introduced the first carbon fee bill 10 years ago

He also has a lifetime score of 90% from the league of conservation voters.

On gun issues, he has a F from the NRA.

He has also been a longtime supporter of unions and the labor movement and has a 91% lifetime rating from the AFL_CIO

While it's certainly fair to point out his positions on hot button issues like abortion and same sex marriage, I think it's equally fair to also point out his position on another hot button issue like the environment.

It seems incomplete to only highlight his positions on abortion, Barack Obama (?), the economy, foreign policy (which only covers Hong Kong), Healthcare, Immigration (he voted for the DREAM act earlier this month but there's no mention of that ) and LGBTQ issues (He also voted for the Equality Act last month but there's no mention ).

• Unfortunately, your edit request still cannot be reviewed because the provided references are not formatted correctly. The citation style predominantly used by the Dan Lipinski article is Citation Style 1 (CS1). The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare URL's. Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. Leaving office

Lipinski will apparently leave office at the end of this term, after losing a primary to another candidate (Newman). This is mentioned way at the end of the intro section. I'd like to move this to just after the 1st paragraph unless someone objects. There will obviously have to be an update when he leaves office either way. Newman won the general election for the seat last week so I'll mention that in the existing paragraph. Unsourced Death Info

I have reverted an unsourced edit which claimed that Lipinski recently died. If in fact, Lipinski is dead, a reliable source needs to be cited for that information.--TommyBoy (talk) 02:42, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
