Notability and Advertisement Issues

[edit]

1) This article concerns someone who I question the notability of. I know he's a perpetual candidate, but I don't think that every perpetual or occasional candidate necessarily merits an article.

2) More importantly, half of this article does feel like an advertisement for a not-yet-written book. To some extent, therefore, I think this falls under the definition of a "Coatrack" article.

3) The article has mot, to all appearances, been improved in well over a year.

Therefore, I believe this article should likely be deleted. Tyrenon (talk) 02:03, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've addressed the advertisement issue by removing the paragraph about the book. As for his notability, if you feel strongly about it I suggest you take it to AfD. —Psychonaut (talk) 11:15, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged retirement

[edit]

Danny Goldstick is not retired. I spoke with him personally recently. He still teaches a load of around three courses per semester, but has no committee obligations. The fact that he is listed as emeritus on U Toronto's site does not necessitate that he is 'retired'. He told me, in fact, that he avoided mandatory retirement, and opted not to retire when he had the chance at 65, choosing instead to continue teaching at a reduced load. 67.166.32.152 (talk) 01:08, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
