Requested move 28 September 2022

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. There is a consensus that the current title is not appropriate for the subject, that "CTRL" or "Ctrl" is more appropriate. Most participants seem to prefer uppercase "CTRL", however they also showed willingness to use "Ctrl" if the former violates Wikipedia guidelines. Per WP:TMRULES, non-standard English formatting can be used when the standard formatting is not widespread, which seems to be the case here, with universal usage of "CTRL" (per BarrelProof). Per WP:NOTCURRENTTITLE, moving to the uppercase "CTRL" with no prejudice against another RM, if anyone prefers "Ctrl" from a policy standpoint. Damage Control (professional wrestling)Damage CTRL – Per the discussion at WikiProject Pro Wrestling, linked above in the previous section. DrewieStewie (talk) 02:11, 28 September 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 14:51, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that CTRL is not a likely misspelling of control so I agree that we don’t need (profession wrestling) since I doubt anyone looking up Damage CTRL would be looking for anything other than this article.--65.93.192.146 (talk) 00:49, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Relisting comment: There is consensus to contract the name, but it's still indecisive right now whether to capitalise "CTRL". — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 14:51, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

• Support- they have been using that abbreviation and have been using it for a while, slowly erasing control and going into CTRL. PedigreeWWEFigz87V2 (talk) 23:46, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Leader

[edit]

Who is the leader of Damage CTRL if it's not Iyo? Thatoneguylol101 (talk) 05:07, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

at this moment, they are more like the Shield or The Corre where there's no true leader, just everyone is equal. Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 19:29, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you listen to their newest theme song, it says "I took your power". I doubt it means anything but just something to note. Thatoneguylol101 (talk) 22:23, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I don’t really edit Wikis. I just follow Damage Ctrl and wanted to mention something.
While it’s been implied over the last few weeks more and more, Dakota was referred to as DC’s new leader in match commentary on last night’s Raw (4/1/24).
On a side note, and like Bayley once did, Dakota gives orders when they are in the ring together, to which the others follow. This is most noticeable in recent weeks during beatdowns and run-ins, instructing to grab her, hold her, do this, etc.
In any case, I noticed this article lists Iyo as the leader now. I have never seen any compelling evidence to this being the case. All I’ve noticed is that a fair amount of fans hold a belief in an unwritten rule that the champ in the faction becomes the de facto leader. I would be interested to see evidence that she is the leader but I have been unable to find any. Iyo is amazing and we’d love to see more of her, but I cannot see how she is the leader. Dakota has been labeled the mastermind, brains and now leader on air. She stands front and center, does the talking, gives instructions in ring and is undergoing significant changes that I feel showcase this transition.
IF one is of the belief that DC has a leader post-Bayley, I just don’t think there is a lot there to show that Iyo is the leader. As I see it, she’s been taking a major backseat lately, which is unfortunate. Trashcan7787 (talk) 22:23, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Sky Pirates

[edit]

WWE does not call the team of Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane as the Sky Pirates. They are just Damage CTRL. The last time the Sky Pirates was used was in early 2019 (during NXT run of Sane and Shirai). Google "sky pirates" site:wwe.com. Just a few mentions in January, February, and April 2019. For now, the Sky Pirates has nothing to do with Damage CTRL. Please do not add it as a sub-group unless WWE starts using it again. Wikipedia articles must not contain original research. --Mann Mann (talk) 14:35, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
