Quotes everywhere
[edit]This section is a bit weird, there are too many quotes in my opinion wich aim to praise this actress. --SantiniNancy (talk) 12:05, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
So condescending!
[edit]Ohh!! This article is just so condescending it's shameful, with little bits of incredibly useless, "cute" information like her mother wouldn't take her to the auditions "if it was raining" and the part about how she wouldn't become a vet because (in Wikipedia's words) "she decided that she would find putting animals to sleep too upsetting".
This entire article is just filled with irrelevant, childish sentences (that aren't in quotes). For God's sakes, she's 14 years old.

[edit]We really need to find a date of birth for this girl, but I can't find anything online. If anyone finds one, be sure to add it right away ^_^ JayKeaton 19:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- A web search suggests April 11, 1994, as her date of birth.[1] Not sure if any of the sources I saw would be reliable enough to meet the requirements of WP:BLP but there don't seem to be any conflicting sources or anything to suggest it isn't accurate. -- 109.77.194.122 (talk) 19:57, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Copying
[edit]Certain portions of this article are word-for-word copies of the IMDB trivia page [2]. I don't know who copied from who, or if the same person added to both, but it is something that should be looked into. -- 16:54, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Image:Dakota B. Richards.jpg is fair use and isn't tagged as such. Has no licensing information at all. Fix plz. 81.153.124.23 (talk) 22:19, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Not to mention it is an extremely unprofessional image. It seems to be a wallpaper from a fansite. WIS (talk) 04:25, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Actually, is it fair use? The box that pops up when you add the "needs photo" parameter to the WikiProject Biography template says that you can almost never claim fair use on an image that's being used "to merely show what a living person looks like". So, umm, what we need is for someone to go along to premiere or something and snap a picture of her... -- KittyRainbow (talk) 09:37, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- My point was that it's not free. 81.153.124.23 (talk) 13:22, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Anyway I tagged it for CSD based on no licensing or attribution info. 81.153.124.23 (talk) 13:27, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, I wasn't contesting its status as a non-free image. It's clearly a non-free image, as it contains promotional images from The Golden Compass. But the English Wikipedia allows the use of certain non-free images under "fair use" criteria... which this image does not satisfy, as it's technically possible for a WP editor to take a picture of Dakota Blue Richards and release it into the public domain. That's what I was trying to point out. Anyway, thanks for tagging the image and removing it from the article. :) -- KittyRainbow (talk) 13:57, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- No worries. You might be able to find free pictures on Flickr. As an account-less person, I can't upload images. 81.153.124.23 (talk) 15:01, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

dakota blue rrichards : on fire
[edit]Dakota Blue Richards is likely to become a very tslented accheaved actress
and am sure the public would love to see the sequeal (the subtle knife)in the near future. Weathere there will be the sequeal is still unsure (i speak for all will parry hopefuls out there). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Staygold2 (talk • contribs) 03:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Deleted content
[edit]Especially when we're dealing with underaged subjects, WP:BLP needs to be followed closely. I have removed a sentence regarding some accusation involving her and a snowman that had no sourced. Assuming it doesn't originate from a gossip rag, if there's a reputable source that can be cited, it can be put back, though to be honest it's so non-notable an incident as described I don't really see the point. 23skidoo (talk) 18:19, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Since a number of anonymous IPs have decided to target this article for vandalism, I'm locking the article down until further notice; anon IPs and new users won't be able to edit it for awhile. There have been some good faith IP edits in recent days, too, but unfortunately others have spoiled it for them. Actually I take that back; I couldn't find any. 23skidoo (talk) 02:07, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's been a couple of weeks. Should I remove the protection or should we keep it locked down? 23skidoo (talk) 23:35, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Unofficial Website (http://www.dakota.skyefairy.net/)
[edit]I was looking at her info here on Wiki yesterday and wanted to remove the URL Unfortunately, my registered account doesn't have enough permissions to edit it.
The unofficial website, [3], is reported as a harmful site by Google, and I am unsure if the website itself has indeed been hacked or altered to send out malicious content. However, if the site is indeed dangerous especially to those who browse websites unprotected by antivirus and antispyware softwares, please remove this link temporarily until the website is working again.
Thank you.

- Unofficial fan sites aren't really allowed under current Wikipedia rules anyway, so it probably should have been removed anyway. We won't pass judgement as to whether it's a good faith site that got hacked or if it isn't. Either way, I've removed it. Good catch. 23skidoo (talk) 20:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Subtle Knife
[edit]The only source I can find to there being any Subtle Knife film is the IMDb which is disallowed as a source by Wikipedia. Certainly there would be reports by now if such a film were coming out in 2009. 23skidoo (talk) 18:54, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Address
[edit]At the end of the "Personal Life" section, it says : "She says she is moving to <address>". Surely this should be removed? (What idiot added this?)

File:Dustbin Baby- April in the graveyard.jpg to appear as POTD soon
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Dustbin Baby- April in the graveyard.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on September 25, 2011. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2011-09-25. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 16:42, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Refimprove template
[edit]This article requires references to reliable sources, see WP:RS
Refs which should not be used include Daily Mail, IMDB and blogs such as wordpress and blogspot. I hope someone can find the time to research and improve this page because as it stands parts of it read like a teen mag fan page. Mramoeba (talk) 09:30, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
Citation checking, pt 1 — channel4.com content, vs text [including PLAGIARISM CORRECTION]
[edit](1) I corrected the referenced webpage, so the link was no longer dead. (2) I then checked if the content of any surrounding sentences to which the reference was not attached could be used to account for the content appearing, adding the citation at end of sentence if this was so. (3) I then corrected the content of the sentences to which this reference was attached. To understand the template messages placed, and the other portions of content edited in sentences citing this channel4.com reference, here is the entirety of the relevant content on that page. (Clearly, it was not the source for all material in those sentences, and this has been corrected through the editing and placement of the [citation needed] messages.) Note, the placement of quotation marks around the "clever..." phrase was AGF, given that the alternative conclusion was WP:OR. Note also, the "only became..." passage was PLAGIARISED, and so was corrected to source, and placed in quotes. At the next appearing point of the citation in the text, referencing Hayao Miyazaki at Studio Ghibli—this content does not appear in the source, and so is WP:OR. (I also found this through research, and removed it for that reason.) Finally, the Lady Gaga sentence both omitted the equal status of other artists, and added the "often" editorial/OR, so this sentence was also corrected to the source.
Dakota Blue Richards plays Franky / Category: News Article, News Release ... / 15 April 2011
Tell us about your character? / Franky is the outsider, she arrives three weeks late, and looks very different to all the other characters. She is such a lovely person who keeps trying to bring people together and is quite selfless. She is quite androgynous, and is very creative and does a lot with music. Franky has moved around a lot in her past, it is hinted at but we're not quite sure what it is that has happened to her.
What do you enjoy about Playing Franky? / Franky is so kind, unconditionally, to everyone. Even when people are mean to her she continues to be nice to everyone. She can't really be beaten.
Can you see some similarities between you and your character? / I'm quite creative like she is. I like making things and I do Art at school. I like building things much like Franky. I'd like to say I'm as kind, sweet and lovely as she is but don't think I'm quite as lovely as she is! She's the kind of person I would aspire to be like but I don't think I'm quite there yet. Aesthetically however I don't think there are many similarities between us. I am much more feminine than she is and I am much more comfortable in myself.
If you could play someone else in the cast who would it be and why? / I would quite like to play Grace, partly because she always looks amazing and get the cutest costumes. I also think there is a lot of depth to her character, which is there but quite subtly hinted at. She is a very happy person, and in the same sense as Franky she likes to bring people together and make sure everything is ok. I think each member of the cast is their character and I can't imagine anyone else playing them. It's odd because I auditioned for Liv originally but I only became Franky right at the very end of the audition process.
Tell us something about you... / I do art. I'm not very good at it but I enjoy it. I'm quite into modern art and abstract stuff. I like making things. I really like a photographer called Christian Coigny. I think he's great. I like the works Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst too. The stuff that he makes you just want to look at! Movies, ‘Cruel Intentions', ‘Pricilla Queen Of The Desert', ‘The Orphanage', and French film called ‘Innocence'. I really like the Studio Ghibli films, I think they're really cool. Music, I like everything to an extent. I really like Crystal Castles, The Temper Trap, Lady GaGa and Iron & Wine!
