Does anyone know dates for their first two releases? The dates I've found on the 'net vary, can someone please varify what dates they are? JimHxn 10:58, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
GA Nomination (FAILED)
I am reviewing this article. Realist2 (talk) 16:42, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Part1 (A=Pass B=Pass) - well written, correct spelling and format.
- Part2 (A=Pass B=Pass C=Pass) - well sourced, all formatted, no original research.
- Part3 (A=Fail B=Fail) - There needs to be much more detail on album 1 and album 2. The activism section could also be expanded upon.
- I wish there was more information to put in about those albums, but I literally could not find anything else. Other info about activism is just more of the same thing and would be repetitious. --Kakofonous (talk) 17:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- I actually was able to find some more info—is the article ready for a pass now? --Kakofonous (talk) 19:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

- Part4 (A=Pass) - It is neutral.
- Part5 (A=Pass) - It is stable.
- Part6 (A=Fail B=Fail) - The main picture isnt good enough, it doesnt have the whole group together.
Conclusion
The article did not pass but i will put it on hold so that you can make improvements and let me know when you have finished. Make the corrections, send me a message on my talk page when you have finished. You have 1 week. Need any more help give me a call. Yours. Realist2 (talk) 17:51, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Update
- Par6 (A=Pass B=Pass) - Picture and caption suitable. --Realist2 (talk) 18:10, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Final points for GA award
- As a helping hand, I would suggest ...
- expanding and then splitting the Lead into three paragraphs. Take the major points from the article ("The album itself was described as "one of the hip hop albums of the century" by the British newspaper The Observer", "the Live 8 concert in Eden Project", and "including Positive Black Soul, Daara J takes an activist stance" being examples.)
- Done. --24.218.182.169 (talk) 22:43, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just a note: I am supposedly on wikibreak and put a script in my monobook.js which prevents me from editing on my real account, so I am responding as an IP. --24.218.182.169 (talk) 22:31, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- There needs to be much more detail on album 1 and album 2. The activism section could also be expanded upon.
- As I said before, the limit on what I can put here has been reached. Hopefully what I was able to add before is enough.
- Don't put references in the Lead, as it is only a summary of the article, (DONE)
- don't forget to Wikilink the Lead (DONE)
- make sure names/places are not double-linked in the article.
- This looks like it's done.
- Boomerang is mentioned as a header, but Daara J and Xalima are not. Why put one album as a header but not the first two? Surely something can be found about the first two. (DONE)
- "then returned to the continent, like a boomerang", is either POV, or needs a reference.
- Remembered seeing this somewhere, but removed the "like a boomerang", cited the rest.
Hope this helps, :)--andreasegde (talk) 18:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes finish off the list and it will be GA. GOOD LUCK!!! Realist2 (talk) 21:49, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Three points: It seems as if Realist2 is no longer a reviewer uninvolved with the article, so it needs another person without bias to review again (Andreasegde, perhaps, as he's already made some comments), a hearty thank you to Andreasegde—something unproductive happened between us awhile ago—glad it's in the past; and having an article become GA is not an "award", just an affirmation of the article's quality. --24.218.182.169 (talk) 22:31, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually improving the article is encouraged, just most reviewers dont bother. That said me rewritting the entire article probably does over step the mark. As I have needed to make so many inprovements to the article it seemed unwise to leave it on hold. I should has just failed it. Thankyou for being so considerate, ive spent about four hours on this article only to get slapped in the face. Ive never even heard of this group so how i can be biased eitherway is a laugh and since I have never heard of them im still scratching my head now thinking "why am I bothering". If you would like me to take it off hold I shall. Cheers. Realist2 (talk) 22:44, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't intending to insult you at all: I am thanking you! But the GA rules state that a reviewer should have done minimal work on the article; perhaps bias was the wrong word. Again, we just need an opinion from someone who hasn't been working on the article—thanks for all the work you've done! --24.218.182.169 (talk) 22:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
It says minimal work yes your correct but thats before it becomes nominated. It also says that if you can make inprovements to it you should, (but dont has to) try being BOLD. I think ive followed the guidelines to the T. Realist2 (talk) 22:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Whatever you would like to do with the article (pass, fail, find a third opinion) is fine with me. --24.218.182.169 (talk) 23:12, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
OK it fails, come back to the nomination board when the above issues are resolved, hopefully with a cooled tougue, maybe if you didnt attack reviewers more of your articles would pass, take you well deserved wiki break and come back in a better mood. Realist2 (talk) 23:22, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
