anybody think a FOIA request would be effective?Scientes.bonum.et.malum (talk) 09:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
FOIA requests are almost always denied for mapping products; I'm not sure what the exemption is. However thanks to some kind (or unaware) souls, DAFIF seems to regularly pop up on rogue sites and open directories if you Google intensively for them. The DAFIF AIRAC 1013 cycle (December 2010) is online right now, for example. Rolypolyman (talk) 06:59, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Why is it considered "complete"? There are places that have airfields (for example) that aren't in DAFIF.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.101.115.205 (talk) 10:58, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Format
[edit]One would think there would be at least some clue to the format of a DAFIF file given. Jidanni (talk) 03:07, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- The DAFIF archive has a DOC folder describing the format. --Joe Sewell (talk) 16:29, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
The DAFIF data is a big directory tree, with each directory containing one or more 'tab seperated value' text files. At a guess, most people would use a tool to read this data, so the way it is stored didn't really matter to them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.133.50.94 (talk) 17:12, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
