Fair use rationale for Image:Cracklinrosie45.jpg

[edit]

Image:Cracklinrosie45.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Homemade wine?

[edit]

If that's what the reference says, then that's what we have to say... but it makes no sense for Cracklin' Rosie to be "a store-bought woman" if it's a homemade wine. Store-bought and homemade are pretty much opposites. I think it's much more probable that the name refers to a specific brand of cheap commercial wine called Lancer's Crackling Rose, which apparently existed in the earlier years of the 20th Century (you can find references to it in Google). 69.63.50.98 (talk) 18:00, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

==I agree==--Sallyhamm (talk) 03:10, 29 January 2013 (UTC) I agree. I must see further references on the Native American/Canadian Story. Crackling Rose was in wide use in the late 60's. By myself and hundreds of thousands of others. I don't think we need to look beyond the obvious.Sallyhamm (talk) 03:10, 29 January 2013 (UTC)--Sallyhamm (talk) 03:10, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I always assumed that the store-bought meant that she was lower class. Her clothes were bought in a store, and not custom made. Chaleur (talk) 23:15, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Skate 3

[edit]

I was not sure how, but how do we add a heading about the song being Skate 3? Shelled Turtle (talk) 12:27, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Motorcycle

[edit]

Someone has inserted a line about their motorcycle crackling as it slows down. A ridiculous and inappropriate addition to this entry. --Pete3194 (talk) 03:30, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
