Updates other than the rating
[edit]MikeAllen, there have been no official updates on this film since May 2022. And I already know users only post ratings for feature films when it is notable per WP:FILMRATING. Right now, there is nothing wrong with this Wikipedia article about this film, so we are keeping the latest revision. When is a good time to update this article again? 216.154.26.102 (talk) 16:33, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

How to phrase the first line if deleted?
[edit]Suppose the film gets deleted and no longer exists due to WB's decisions. How would the first line be phrased?
In past tense, like "Coyote vs. Acme was an unreleased American comedy film" or "Coyote vs. Acme was a deleted American comedy film"?
Or maybe would it be phrased in the present tense the same way lost films are:
"Coyote vs. Acme is a lost American comedy film" or "Coyote vs. Acme is a deleted American comedy film"? HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 21:22, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
- Exactly as it is now: "Coyote vs. Acme is an unreleased American comedy film". Being the exact scenario you mention, the article on Batgirl reads the same way. Madyoshi01 (talk) 16:32, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- To my understanding all RS are stating that the film is being physically destroyed, which would mean that it would no longer exist. I haven't seen similar reporting on whether Batgirl exists. HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 18:47, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- As far as what's known on that front, the directors attempted to save footage from the film upon being told of its cancellation and were locked out of the computers.[1] So it's either destroyed or shelved deep within the WB files. Either way, still functioning as a write-off. Madyoshi01 (talk) 22:03, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- As far as we know Batgirl is not deleted, just collecting dust in WB's vault. With CvA we know they're planning to get rid of it forever. CyberAlexMM (talk) 03:10, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- To be fair, we don't really know that. If the plan is to leave no trace of the film Batgirl probably suffered the exact same fate. I don't know what would differentiate the two cases besides their status (one was completed, the other deep into post-production) for one to be erased from existence and the other being vaulted. If that's the case for CvA I genuinely hope the folks at WBPA made backups before sending the final copy of the film over to De Luca and Abdy (considering the precedent with Scoob! Holiday Haunt I'm willing to believe they have). It would be so sad if the footage is just scrubbed from existence like that, like it never existed. Genuinely hope it doesn't come to pass. Why is the film's status "unreleased" already when the trades are saying it's not dead yet?
[edit]Yes, WBD rejected every deal because it didn't meet their insane terms and their efforts to sell were called "dubious".
Yes, they probably want it shelved, deleted and written off by the quarter ending two weeks from now.
Both things are true, but what's also true is that both TheWrap and Deadline call the film's status "a race against time" and "in a purgatory state, in limbo", which suggests it's not dead yet. Even though unlikely, why are we calling it "unreleased" when there's still hope someone swoops in, meets their terms and buys the film?
I'd like an answer to that. Madyoshi01 (talk) 16:28, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- What about when Eric Bauza mentioned "Release Coyote vs. ACME!" at the Annie Awards? --DukeyDukeyToo (talk) 01:27, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- And what about one of the congressmen who wants the FTC to investigate Warner Bros Discovery? GuyUser81 (talk) 17:57, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- And what about the fans revolting against WBD with their trending hashtags: #ReleaseCoyotevsACME, #SaveCoyotevsACME, #LeakCoyoteVsACME and #FireDavidZaslav? --DukeyDukeyToo (talk) 17:51, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

We might've known what fate would befall this particular film.
[edit]Need I inform you all that the movie wasn't deleted like Daddy Zaslav said he was going to but it was in fact, however, reshelved once again because the people at WBD are a bunch of fucking idiots who can't go a full year without being in debt over something million dollars to save their asses. It's been confirmed since the 26th of this month.
I hope some random staff member within the making of Coyote vs ACME leaks the video file all across the internet so that we can form our opinions about what we think of this movie. There's basically no point in releasing it anymore now that it got completely shelved again. We need to convince people supposedly having the video file on Twitter to actually leak the fucking thing instead of pussying out of something they wanted to do in the first place. Kerpobspartan (talk) 20:03, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Are the hashtags on X even working?:

- SaveCoyoteVsACME
- LeakCoyoteVsACME
- FireDavidZaslav

- This has nothing to do with improving the article. I would recommend discussing this further on Reddit or somewhere similar. WP:NOTAFORUM Mike Allen 10:34, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
Past tense
[edit]Because the film is being cancelled and being shelved by Warner Bros. no one will have any media access to the film and thus will never be released, distributed, preserved, or seen by anyone. Because of these reasons, it is appropriate to address the film in past tense as to reflect the status of film even if the subject of this article is not a person. Galefuun (talk) 08:12, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- I disagree, see Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. Madyoshi01 (talk) 03:09, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
- Highly doubt it one little bit, take a look at Scooby-Doo! and Krypto Too! for example. It got leaked right before the film released lol Kerpobspartan (talk) 16:16, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- See MOS:FILMNOW. The film is not 'lost' and should be describe in present tense. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:05, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
GAN?
[edit]Are we sure we want to put this article through a GAN? There really isn't a conclusion to the film's release. I don't know...I don't think this is ready to be a good article. Mike Allen 13:57, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
June 19th
[edit]So this article claims that the film, "is released on July 19, 2024." This is completely untrue. Can somebody fix this? TheRealSwankyKong (talk) 23:40, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
