Proposed merge of Corruption in the Pahlavi dynasty

[edit]

A new article, Corruption in the Pahlavi dynasty, ought to be merged into this one because both articles are short (too short), and because both articles need to have more context, a sense of what has come before and what came after. For instance, many observers have described the Qajar dynasty as corrupt (see some sources listed at Talk:Corruption in the Pahlavi dynasty) so what must happen is that the corruption in Iran be described as a continuity, with each subsequent era inheriting and maintaining corruption, rather than inventing it. • Object I wrote the article in Farsi Wikipedia and I can tell you there is abundance of material solely written on this subject in academic sources. I therefore suggest in keeping it as an independent article and "let it grow" :).--Kazemita1 (talk) 23:25, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support it is within the scope of Corruption in Iran. It could simple be added as a large section within the page. Most corruption by country pages have historical details, not simply of modern governments. DaltonCastle (talk) 18:49, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Corruption"

[edit]

Isn't calling it "corruption" a little biased? I thought the neutral point of view was a rule. GermanGamer77 21:04, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2 million or 2 billion?

[edit]

"After the revolution, the Central Bank of Iran published a list of 177 prominent individuals who had recently transferred over $2 billion out of the country, among them:

   Jafar Sharif-Emami, some $31 million
   Gholam Ali Oveisi, $15 million
   Namazi, $9 million,
   Nasser Moghadam, $2 million
   "Mayor of Tehran", $6 million
   "Minister of Health", $7 million
"Director of the National Iranian Oil Company", over $60 million

"

None of these values are over $2 billion. So there must be a mistake somewhere but since I don't have access to the source I can't edit. Can someone do it? --Spafky (talk) 08:32, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
