Cornish revivalCornish language revival – Per WP:PRECISE. "Cornish revival" is ambiguous, and more broadly refers to the Cornish segment of the Celtic revival, which is not intrinsically linguistic. The topic of this article is the revival of the Cornish language in particular (and it's entirely feasible to write an article on the Cornish revival in the broader sense, as a subtopical split from Celtic revival under WP:SUMMARYSTYLE). This rationale does not affect Gaelic revival, which was a historical movement of the Victorian era, that explicitly carried that name and is not generally known by any other names in the sources (in English). By contrast, the topic of the article presently at Cornish revival is referred to by widely divergent phrasing, e.g. "efforts to revive the Cornish language", "Cornish language restoration movement", etc.; "Cornish revival" is not a proper name. The title Cornish language revival is a descriptive disamiguation, and is preferable to a parenthetical one like "Cornish revival (linguistic)" per both WP:NATURALDAB and WP:CONCISE.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  05:12, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recent

This is a fascinating subject, with new developments all the time. There should be info on recent developments, in 2015 or later. Possible sources:

IETF variants

[edit]

There are several IETF language tag variants for the orthographies of Cornish. They should be mentioned in their respective articles and used to tag text. --Error (talk) 17:15, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is the article about Cornish orthography standardization?

[edit]

I feel like this article is mainly focused on the standardization of modern Cornish orthography. Shouldn't the title of the article reflect this? From the title alone, I would have expected to read about the efforts to reestablish the Cornish language both in spoken and written form (for instance the efforts to teach it, to use it in official contexts etc).
