Fair use rationale for Image:Coquitlam Public Library logo.png

[edit]

Image:Coquitlam Public Library logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:38, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to suggest expanding the article by including a list of library services:

Library Services

[edit]

Library services include[1]:

  • Programs for children, teenagers, adults, seniors and newcomers to Canada
  • Physical and online collections, including books, movies, music, video games, newspapers and magazines
  • Interlibrary loan services
  • Information and reference services
  • Mobile library services through the Library Link
  • Home delivery services for individuals who have limited mobility
  • Meeting rooms and group study rooms
  • Internet and computer access
  • Printing, scanning and photocopying services
  • Digitization equipment
  • Publicly accessible 3D printers and virtual reality equipment
  • A lendable technology collection that includes telescopes, Playaway Launchpads, Sphero robots and Ozobots

Note: The only way I see to verify the list of services is by using Coquitlam Public Library's website (https://www.coqlibrary.ca), which I cited once in the introductory sentence. I could also provide specific web pages as citations for each service if necessary.

Thanks for considering, RosanneHCPL (talk) 20:32, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done this is not encyclopedic content, it is advertisng and is more appropriate for your own website. Theroadislong (talk) 20:36, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed: Under 'History', last paragraph, please edit the second last sentence to read: the library purchased a second-hand bookmobile from Sno-Isle Libraries in Washington, sponsored in part by Wesbild, Industrial Alliance, Friends of the Coquitlam Public Library, Rotary of Coquitlam and community members.
  • Why it should be changed: Further explains how the Library Link was able to be purchased and operated by Coquitlam Public Library.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): [2]

Not done @RosanneHCPL: Do you have any published secondary sources that have written about it? If so, please provide those in a new request. If a secondary source has not seen this as important, then it should not be included in the article. S0091 (talk) 00:03, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Please establish a consensus with editors engaged in the subject area before using the {{Request edit}} template for this proposed change. To me, this just seems like advertising for the sponsors, which doesn't seem appropriate. (pinging RosanneHCPL) — Lauritz Thomsen (talk) 12:22, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed: Under Director, consider changing to "Anthea Goffe, Interim Executive Director".
  • Why it should be changed: Todd Gnissios is no longer Executive Director.
