Fan Sites
I dislike the no fan site rule first of all the fan sites are the best sources of inormation including info that doesn't find it's way into the official site. THe open directory idea doesn't work I find the open directory to be pretty much useless not to mention being blocked by netsentron.Jamhaw 18:17, 7 February 2007 (UTC)jamhaw
- You should take this up at the guideline. Remember, Wikipedia isn't a link farm - it is an encyclopedia. Yes the sites have info on them, but it is unreliable in 90% of cases. If the open directory is bad, edit it - it is a collaborative project is it not? If it is blocked somewhere, that is not our issue. Sorry.
- If you think a specific site should be listed, please explain why in detail here and it would be considered.-Localzuk(talk) 18:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- They was a fan sites link here before. Unregistered users keeps on adding their own site. I have three most visited link here. No one is willing to keep that.
Here are the fan sites. You are willing to agree with me.
Reason :- A very Popular and most contributed site.
Reason :- This site has also lot of information. EA developers are watching the forum.
- http://www.cncnz.com/ CNCNZ.com
Reason :- Very Old site has contributed a lot to C&C.
Thank you. --SkyWalker 18:46, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that someone added "fan sites" category again, adding cnc3.net and cnc3forums.com, I'll remove them for now unless the communities stance on fan links has changed, which I doubt. I also removed the link to BG-Planet.com from the media section as it seems redundant. Fireryone 23:52, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Those sites you mentioned are mostly spam and has no information. I have already stated three old and active sites which many people go there. Yet noone interested having those sites added. --SkyWalker 06:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Demo
Hmmm, so where can I download the demo now? (no money).
- First of all- sign your comment, second of all- this page is not a forum for that- that can be asked privately and that has very little to do about the actual article. If you were however- to download it that way it would most likely be illegal- a thing we do not support on Wikipedia. --[[User:Yossi842| Yossi842]] 18:27, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- Quote: "First of all", according to this, questions are to be asked in talk pages. Quote: "Second of all", read: demo. What part of that is hard to understand?. Oh, and third of all.. no signature for you! 03:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- While this issue is dead since the game itself is out, Yossi is quite right. The talk page is NOT the place to ask questions about the subject of the article. The reference desk is the best place for that altho that sort of simple question should usually be avoided. The talk page of an article is solely intended for discussing how to improve the article. If the demo is out, you're welcome to recommend we add a link. But this is not the place to come to ask if the demo is out Nil Einne 12:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- The best way to keep yourself up to date about such matters is to browse through the official C&C 3 forum on a regular basis, or to periodically visit the official C&C 3 website by EALA -- a link to both can be found in the "Official sites" category of the "External links" section at the bottom of this article. Important announcements made by EALA's community manager are typically "stickied "to the top of the official forums for as long as these news updates remain relevant. DieOfGoodLuck 12:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and, *cough* for the record, the demo hasn't been released. 64.121.39.12 06:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC) (The Hypnotist, of CNCNZ)
Official news from Predator(EA Community Manager)
20/Feb/2007 Demo Update again from Predator |
---|
....We have not announced the official date of the demo and all of the gaming sites reporting on its intended release date have been incorrect and stemming from the mistaken FilePlanet news.
So here is the deal, I am not privy to announce a release date for our demo yet so I cannot put myself in hot water here understandably :o) That said, we will be announcing VERY SOON the release date of the demo. It is coming sooner than you think, but I will say right now as well, its not coming tomorrow either. I will keep you guys posted, expect an announcement very soon. If possible, we try and make that announcement today. As I am sure you understand, the last thing we want to do is make an announcement that isn't 100% accurate which is why I'm not going to make any good educated guesses here even though...I know, hehe. So, please, no more demo threads, sit tight, its on its way very...very soon. Thank you, Predator Read Stickyed Thread |
Hope this clears things up a bit Fireryone 12:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
The demo is LIVE!
Fireryone 08:13, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
The demo is very cool, but it has the unfortunate side effect of making the entirety of the current page for Command and Conquer 3 obsolete. While I'll grant you that the retail release will probably do the same for the demo, at this point the page is pretty much useless. Michael.A.Anthony 22:08, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Well I'm screwed, can't even run the demo. 71.75.161.147 22:22, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Tiberium
I heard something about that in this game there will be liquid tiberium and tiberium lifeforms will be added is this right? What does Scrin mean? 82.114.81.150 11:13, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Certain units of the alien faction apparently will be able to cover their fellow units with liquid Tiberium, which supposedly will grant unspecified advantages to them. Tiberium lifeforms are confirmed to be in C&C 3, and more specifically in the forms of visceroids and mutants, which were previously featured in C&C 3s prequel of Tiberian Sun. As for the significance of the Scrin, click on this link to learn a bit more on them. You can also refer to the "The Scrin" section in the "Factions overview" paragraph of this discussion page its article. DieOfGoodLuck 09:17, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Maybe in the game there would be more explaination about the term SCRIN and their history. Thanks for the information for the scrin and tiberium. 82.114.81.150 19:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Scrin basecally means a type of closet a bureu. Is that spelled right? Jamhaw 14:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)jamhaw
- No matter as long we understand what you mean there won't be problems.
Thanks for the meaning of Scrin. It should be mentioned in the article for the Scrin.Wikipedia discussion pages are not places for the subjects of some articles so many of my questions would be answered by the game it self.82.114.81.149 22:37, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't actually think that Tiberium lifeforms would be added in the game, or it's only the demo, because i've, erm, sacrificed few infantries in skirmish and they actually deform into nothing, not visceroids. Also, I remember it says that Tiberium was evolved too...not really sure though. Ericlaw02 12:34, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Really! No viceriods? That would be terrible as long as you think that tiberian sun firestorm has had a plenty of tiberium life. This new game that is concerned about the future hasn't.Maybe things would get right by the full game installation or by patches.Than we need to update the article. 82.114.81.149 18:16, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, according to someone from the last CNC3 summit, visecroids are back, but with erm, three legs...(transformed by a scrin unit if i remember) -- Ericlaw02 08:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I do not think visceriods have something to do with the Scrin. They are earth based tiberium life forms and the game should come out soon then we can confirm it but someone should explain how could just the visceriods are mentioned where is the other part I mean where is the tiberium based life it becomes an anti-evolution of life,a big extinction of tiberium based life. However at the end it might be included somewhere after.
82.114.81.155 21:01, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
According to the instruction manual... Corrupters spray corrosive slime (should be liquid tiberium) onto structures and infantry with devastating effect on humans (should be visceroids); yet with suprising restorative effects on their own troops. Corrupters can clear garrisoned structures.
I remember Steppo's summit report said that first about the Corrupter transforming infantries to visceroids.
Visceroid in the manual: These foul, mindless, and dangerous by-products of a certain type of Tiberium exposure attack anything that moves and constantly regenerate. (An interesting fact is, it's look is different, much different. Never seen it ingame though. IMO it looks like a blob with a 4 legged octopus on top of it.) --Ericlaw02 12:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Other known facts NPOV
I tagged this section with a NPOV violation as it seemed to me that it is biased toward the SAGE gaming engine and has many opinionated facts present in it. -Popcorn2008 22:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- The "Other Known Facts" section of this article benefits from being well sourced. Based on all that I have read of these same sources to date, I would say the various content of the section is in line with the information presented within the reference links to a high degree. Before re-adding the tag to the article, please discuss on these pages which specific parts of the section's content you consider to be opinionated, and more importantly, on what grounds. Demo screenshots?
Can someone with a Windows PC download the demo and upload screenshots? Thanks, The Fish 14:24, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Whatcha' need, youngster? (So, screenshots of what do you want?) Mikael GRizzly 15:24, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
I have two screenshots, which are below :)
1024x768 of the first demo mission
1440x800 random screenshot
1024x768 screenshot of a well developed base
- We should add this screenshot http://www.tiberium-twilight.net/screenshots/base.jpg. What do you all say?. Should it be added or not?. --SkyWalker 08:41, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I think yes we should. And there should be another one with Nod.82.114.81.154 15:49, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- We're already getting close to screenshot overload here. There is no room, and when using fairuse images they should be kept to only what's actually necessary to explain the subject of the article. The one screenshot in the demo section, maybe, but only one. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 15:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- We can compensate by removing this picture from this article such has this picture has been added in tiberium and this picture can be added here Miscellaneous factions of Command & Conquer and this both images can be removed from this articles and three pictures from each faction can be added in the particular faction. Such has this can be added next to gdi and so on. Also it would be good to take a picture which has all the buildings. --SkyWalker 18:46, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
REQUIREMENTS
Has this demo a block.I mean that I have 448 mb RAM so I do not have 512 mb RAM.Does that mean like in warhammer 40000 the limit is 256 so if you have less than that, the game will not even start. So I mean has this demo a mechanism like this. 82.114.81.149 13:37, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Yup. 71.75.161.147 20:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes?? 82.114.81.149 18:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Unlikely, never tried it though. (betcha EA is soaking every money they can get, hence the low requirements) --Ericlaw02 08:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I think the game must have a low requirement platform.Otherwise the game has great looking graphics but does not require a great computer for average performance gaming but also there might be great marketing issues for EA to keep it so and take profits.I just can not understand one thing,i could only speculate why the game in the videos and screenshots looks far better than in the screenshots in the demo game?Is it not the same graphic engine? 82.114.81.149 20:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Lower quality textures may be included, or the screenshots you've seen may not have the details cranked and anti-aliasing on. That said, it's not atypical for some companies (i.e. EA) to "touch up" screenshots. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 22:28, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- You can compare it with the screenshots up there before this topic the third one for example you could compare to the screenshot in the main page those two mammoth tanks. The difference is like medium graphics with high graphics or even other screenshots and levels. For my it is just a mystery.82.114.81.149 19:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Casting
Anyone else think the Kane as Joseph D. Kucan section in Casting should me moved into the list of
Main Cast instead of being hidden beneath Reporters and buried in info about an early trailer?
Should we keep the info about the "Real Kane" being in the trailer and double up on the info in the
main casting section as well, or just dump the trailer bit and add Joseph into the Main staff section?
It's just starting to look a bit uninformative and redundant.

Background section
What is the purpose of the article now?. The game is going to be released soon. --SkyWalker 16:09, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I fail to understand your point - are we to delete it when it is released? The rest of the series is already out and those articles still exist. Addyboy 16:57, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I did not understand you. What iam telling is the background section is of no value to this article. --SkyWalker 17:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I still fail to understand - it's just a history of how the project came to be, and I don't see any reason to get rid of it Addyboy 16:45, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- I see no reason to delete it either. However, I think we should remove the demo section. Seems insignificant now and none of the good PC articles have a section on their respective demos. MahangaTalk to me 21:27, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

So....
Is anyone going to update this now that the game is out? I'm not going to be able to get it for a while but want to know whats up story-wise...
indeed 89.243.245.215 21:34, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I may (if you think it will benefit the article) provide full storyline by posting story information from all game missions. Short and very incomplete (all that i can remember right now) version is : *delted*
There's a LOT of cutscenes and briefings, but i mentioned only REALLY essential ones. I will extend this list with Scrin missions (didn't played them, finishing NOD campaign right now), more cutscenes and more detailed mission descriptions. When i finish this it will be possible to insert this list into the article, after fixing grammtics and spelling ;)
L.R.N 10:26, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, here's the whole story. [GDI], [NOD] or [SCRIN] means GDI, NOD or SCRIN mission or cutscene. Everything else is general events.
Prologue
[GDI] General Jack Ganger sends you to scout mission in North Carolina where NOD activities has been detected recently. You encounter and destroy fullscale NOD military base there.
[NOD] You're ordered to penetrate Goddard Space Center's defense and destroy it, disabling all GDI antimissile systems.
[GDI] Granger believes that NOD is planning something. Then Leutenant Telfair reports a NOD attack on Goddard Space Center, taken out all GDI missile defences.
[NOD] Kane gives you an honour to press the button and begin Third Tiberium War.
ACT I
NOD launches a missile and destroys Philadelphia Space Station with all GDI high command on board. NOD launches a coordinated attack on all Blue Zones.
[NOD] One of the first objectives is to capture Andrews air base to keep GDI air forces on the ground.
[NOD] Other objective is to assault Hampton Roads naval base, enabling NOD to bring more reinforcements.
[NOD] To crush GDI morale you're ordered to capture the White House.
[NOD] And last mission is to capture Washington DC.
[NOD] Kane is pleased. While he's absent, you're put under Kilian's command. She believes that GDI will retaliate in full force.
NOD takes out all GDI command centers except one - in Pentagon.
[GDI] You have to defend Pentagon - last GDI command center.
[GDI] You're ordered to recapture Langley Air Base to regain air support.
[GDI] You must recapture Hampton Roads, allowing GDI to bring reinforcements and denying NOD from doing so.
[GDI] Redmond Boyle is your (and Granger's) new high command as a GDI Action Director. Boyle orders you to retake Washington.
[GDI] You recapture the White House.
[GDI] Boyle tells the press that he has no doubts about this war and GDI victory, because people will support any anti-NOD actions.
ACT II
[GDI] Interrogation of a captive NOD soldier makes Granger believe that NOD is preparing some kind of Weapon of Mass Destruction, so he sends you to Egypt.
[GDI] You have to lauch the attack at NOD Chemical plant in Casabad to uncover their plans.
[NOD] Kilian begins to doubt Kane's plans. She does not understands Kane plans.
[NOD] You're sent to Brazil to defend NOD research facility in Amazon Desert.
[NOD] You must GDI blocade on Atlantic Coast for NOD to escape Brazil with secret weapon component.
[GDI] By studying that Chem. plant in Casabad, GDI scientist learned that NOD is working on new weapon - Liquid Tiberium Bomb.
[GDI] You have to destroy NOD naval port in Alexandria, preventing NOD from spreading WMDs.
[GDI] Your mission is to destroy NOD missile base in Cairo that launched an attack on Philadelphia.
ACT III
[NOD] Kilian didn't know about Liquid Tiberium and wonders why Kane didn't shared this information with her. She departs to Australia.
[NOD] GDI intercepted LTB convoy in Slovenia and captured the component. You have to recapture LTB component from GDI and escort it to safety.
[NOD] LTB component is in your hands, but Temple Prime at Sarajevo is under siege by GDI forces. You need to smuggle LTB truck to the Temple and then eleminate GDI threat while Kane is busy
preparing the bomb. In this mission renegade NOD forces will appear and attack you.
[NOD] Kane is happy with your success. "Trap is ready" he says.
[GDI] Redmond Boyle is very unhappy by the fact that Granger took some actions without his approval. Now Boyle orders you to assault the NOD Temple, despite the fact that GDI already failed to do
this recently.
[GDI] First you have to defent last GDI base in this region - one in Croatia - until reinforcements arrive. Then you can eliminate NOD presence there.
[GDI] Second, NOD military supplies in Albania must be destroyed. You must sneak into supply base and take out all military equipement before it is used against you.
[GDI] Finally, NOD Temple is in reach. Your goal is to assault the temple complex and reach the Temple itself. After that Boyle orders you to use Ion Cannon on the Temple Prime, ignoring the
probability of Liquid Tiberium detonation.
Ion Cannon strike detonates Liquid Tiberium bomb, causing massive chain reaction (fallout and radiation on most of the eastern Europe) and alerting alien scouts. Kane is believed to be dead.
[NOD] Kilian takes the command.
ACT IV
[NOD] Kilian orders you to capture three nuclear warheads being transported in Australia. Meanwhile aliens arrive on the Earth. GDI is firing Ion Cannon, causing alien ship to split into large amount of
smaller ships and land all around the globe. Half of the mission you will protect your newly acquired warheads from newly arrived aliens.
[SCRIN] Scrins can't beat all GDI forces, so they need to disorganize them. This also will distract GDI attention from Threshold construction Your first objective is to attack London.
[SCRIN] Scrins realizes that GDI resistance is higher than expected. Now Ichor harvesting is of lower priority, and your task is to make a diversion in Munich, where two captured Scrin scout ships
being held.
[GDI] In Munich GDI scientist is working on captured alien ships. But aliens destroys research facility and only few engineers were able to survive. You're sent to escort them to safety through the city,
resembling a year-old battlefield, while battle is just beginning.
[SCRIN] Your task is to sequre two info-facilities in Croatia to find out what is behind premature Ichor-LQ signal.
[GDI] After your success you are assigned to rally all GDI troops in Stuttgart against aliens.
[GDI] Then you must launch an attack on alien base in Cologne.
[GDI] Main alien base resides in Berne. Your objective is to destroy it.
[NOD] While GDI commander defending Europe, Australia is loosing the fight against the aliens. Kilian makes a deal with GDI: GDI will case any actions against NOD, while NOD will eliminate alien
base near Sydney. But Kilian also orders you to "delay" the destruction of alien base, allowing aliens to breach Sydney's walls and enabling you to sneak in, steal nuclear warheads launch codes and
destroy local Ion Cannon control station.
[NOD] Sydney is evacuating. Kilian orders you to help GDI escape, defending GDI base for 10 minutes. Then Kane appears and orders you to destroy GDI.
[NOD] Kane orders you to siege Kilian's base At Ayers Rock and capture her. You also forced to defend her base from arrived GDI forces, because vengeance is Kane's privilege.
[NOD] Kane orders his assistant to shoot Kilian after interrogating Ajay. Kane promotes you, putting you on Kilian's position. You're sent to Italy.
ACT V
[NOD] Kane foresaw the invasion and prepared a special anti-alien missile - Catalyst missile, that will cause tiberium to explode. Your task is to secure missile silo being attacked by aliens and then
eliminate all aliens in this region.
[GDI] You have to attack largest alien tower in Rome to show the world that it is possible to bring one down.
[NOD] Kane requires access to one of the Towers being built by aliens. To get this access he needs a special code. Capture alien relay node and take the code.
GDI focuses its forces on Towers, destroying one by one.
[SCRIN] Now, when it is known that it is Kane who planned Ichor-LQ signal and caused premature harvesting operations. However, GDI is taking Thresholds down, and you must protect at least one of
them, Threshold 19, because this is your only chance to survive.
[NOD] Kane is very angry at GDI for destroying Towers so quickly. You must delay them by making a diversion, capturing both GDI and alien structures and using them against each other.
[SCRIN] You escaped with your mothership by using last Threshold 19. Overlord requires more information on Kane and orders to prepare a full invasion force.
[NOD] Kane orders you to protect last alien Tower from GDI forces. He believes that Towers is actually an interstellar gates and will reveal to him all secrets of Tiberium.
[NOD] When you return to NOD HQ, Kane invites you to follow him to The Gateway.
[GDI] GDI learns that aliens is using central tiberium control node in Ground Zero (where the whole thing with Tiberium started). Destroy the node = stop the invasion. Boyle equips you with new Liquid
Tiberium bomb, secretly developed by GDI scientists, and suggests you to use this bomb for quick victory. Granger believes that bomb will cause extensive damage worldwide and points out that it is
actually a bad idea for GDI to rely on tiberium weapons. If you use LTB, you'll kill nearly 2 millions of people and strenghten Byole's political position, allowing him to replace Ganger with you. If you don't,
then Boyle will be resigned. Anyway, with the control node destroyed the invasion will stop immidiately.
GDI managed to break their way to the last Tower, but found it disabled and harmless.
- It is not known, what exactly Kane is planning to do with 'his' tower and where he gone with NOD.
- It is unclear, how GDI destroyed all towers (except Kane's) before completion, while Scrins were able to complete and use one of them (Threshold 19, wich is not Kane's Tower).
- It is unclear, how control node destruction will affect further Scrin activity. Looks like Scrins were able to escape before control node was destroyed by GDI.
- Expect expansion pack...
L.R.N 09:02, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
A long story indeed but are those scrin towers portals to other worlds?
I thought Kane was something like a Scrin alien and tiberium a agent of the scrin for terraforming. It does not look like the Scrins are allies with Nod.And one more question, who is here wining Nod,GDI or the Scrin.
82.114.81.152 11:15, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Scrin towers are heavy tiberium extractors. They extract tiberium from all around them and transport it (via some kind of teleporter) somewhere (probably to Scrin homeworld). Kane isn't Scrin. Scrin Overlord is very interested in Kane (he said something about genetic deviation, but i didn't catched this). Tiberium (AKA Ichor) is a resource, and Scrin utilizes it in the same way as human do. I don't know, whatever tiberium terraformation is side effect or intentioned feature. Scrins aren't allied with NOD, their main mission in this game is Ichor harvesting and Threshold construction. Kane knew that (citing) "Visitors may not be very...cooperative", that's why he created Catalyst rocket. Scrin Intelligence suggests to vipe out all humans because they are (citing) "warlike to extreme". Every side is winning, because this isn't actually a 3-side war, since all sides has their own goals. For GDI victory is to stop alien invasion (they don't know that it was just harvesting force). For NOD victory is to gain full access to Scrin Tower (i don't know, what Kain is going to do with it, probably teleport away from Earth). For Scrin victory is to escape from Earth (after GDI puts up heavy resistance). L.R.N 17:12, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
The Scrin seem to be something sinister than I expected.I have some problems understanding them because what link do they have from the Scrin-ships from TS where the Tacitus Are the Scrin forces controlled by a central control computer in the ground zero? It sounds to me as the Scrin were like cyborgs in TS Firestorm and do they or are they like humans or bots controlled by a center? Why are they controlled by a center? I found no answer from the article.82.114.81.153 16:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- For the links between them and the Scrin ship from TS, you have to look at the series as a whole. At the end of the first war (Tiberian Dawn/Renegade) Nod captured a crashed Scrin ship. The ship was used to reverse engineer the antigravity tech of the Banshee, which evolved into the modern day Vertigo, and the Plasma weaponry used by Banshees and Cyborg Commandos. These technologies show up in the Scrin units, with the Stormrider aircraft which resemble Banshees and the plasma weapons used by the Scrin. Kane seems to know a lot about the Scrin, likely from what he learned whilst going over their ship with a fine comb. He seems intent on turning the human race into "Cosmic carjackers", stealing the Scrin technology and putting us in their place of power.
Did not played TS Firestorm, sorry. Scrin is an alien race, resembling cyberorganic bugs. Probably tiberium-based (GDI sonic canons, designed to resonate with tiberium crystalline structure to destroy it, are very effective against all and any Scrin ground units, giving us a clue that tiberium for Scrin is more than just a fuel or resource). Yes, they are controlled by central computer (something about global tiberium radiation emitting, i'm not sure, you better ask native english guys who could understand 100% of talk in cutscenes). However, i'm sure that there's not much information in game, since GDI and Nod are clueless about what Scrin actually are, while Scrin does not reveal any details because they it is assumed that you know everything already (because you're Scrin too). I'm sure, expansion pack will give us much more info about Scrin. L.R.N 09:23, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
