You seem to be quite right. Gibbon's brief account of Phocas' reign of abuses (click here) offers no episode outside Constantinople. The error is mine. Then the gift of the Pantheon (609) was not a gift made in person? --Wetman 11:40, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
