M1877?

[edit]

I allways knew or heard about that revolver by the name of "Colt Double Action" or by its caliber variants names (Lightning or Thunderer, I ignored there was a Rainmaker variant). I also allways thought it was just a variant of the Peacemaker (M1873)... is then "Colt M1877" its official designation? Kintaro (talk) 19:05, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and it is very different from the SAA.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 22:59, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Per the article itself, "The M1877 was offered from the factory in two basic finishes: nickel-plated or a case-hardened frame with a blue barrel and cylinder."... - Adolphus79 (talk) 07:22, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
