How many?
[edit]How many Colt anaconda realtree como were produced?
How could the Anaconda be designed to rival the Smith and Wesson 29 when the 29 came a year after the Anaconda? Shouldn't it be the other way around? 72.197.133.100 22:49, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
WTF???
[edit]Dude. Slap yourself for making that comment. Smith & Wesson, through a joint venture with remington, invented the .44 magnum in the late 1950's. Colt's .44 magnum Anaconda was merely a brief venture into territory that Smith & Wesson had long since pioneered with the only source of competition coming from Sturm Ruger Corp. (who scrambled frantically to produce the .44 magnum Ruger Blackhawk after finding a few spent .44 magnum rounds in S&W's trashcans).
Although I love all of my Colt firearms, they regretfully waited about thirty years to jump onto the .44 Magnum bandwagon that Smith & Wesson and Ruger made popular.
Also, the revolver in Half-Life 2 is actually the Colt Python. The Colt Anaconda was NEVER chambered for .357 Magnum.
"Best selling" vs "due to lack of sales"
[edit]Curious juxtaposition. Which is it? 67.142.130.24 21:00, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
The Anaconda came way after the S&W Model 29! The 29 was originally offered to the public in 1955. The Colt Anaconda not until 1980+/-.
The Colt Anaconda was offered in caliber .45 Colt as well as the .44 Magnum and as someone else mentioned the Real Tree cammo finish as well as stainless steel.
Wow!
[edit]I just want to say that I went up Redington Pass and shot my Anaconda .44 Mag 6" bbl. today. Damn, it was fun! It is very comfortable to shoot. A VAST improvement for shooting compared to a SA .44 Mag like the Ruger Super Blackhawk. Shooting the latter splits the web of skin between your thumb and your index finger. Shooting the Anaconda is very nice. Just a wonderful gun. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.142.130.25 (talk) 01:10, 6 February 2007 (UTC).

.50 AE Chambering
[edit]I noticed .50 AE appears on the list as one of the chamberings. Does anyone have a source for this? I've never seen a reference to this being a factory chambering. 66.191.19.68 (talk) 17:32, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
References in Pop. culture?
[edit]Hi, would just like to say that this revolver is the basis for the HL2 video-game's revolver. Perhaps that should be included? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.23.50.238 (talk) 23:00, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
